WG Vrox
Just something that came up the other day as I was reading the dex. If you have a Rune Priest in Runic Armor and you suffer a perils of the warp roll, don't forget to take your 5+ invol save against psychic powers that the RA allows for. Toasterfree
isnt that only allowed against powers that cause a wound? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182316-runic-armor/#findComment-2156971 Share on other sites
WG Vrox
Perils of the warp does cause a wound. in the BRB, PofW allows for invol saves, RA provides Invol save against Psychic powers that cause wound, I would think the PotW is a form of a psychic attack either from yourself or from the warp. Looking for input on this, don't want to play it wrong. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182316-runic-armor/#findComment-2157027 Share on other sites
JamesI
I don't believe defense against psychic powers can protect you from your own perils of the warp. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182316-runic-armor/#findComment-2157037 Share on other sites
Gentlemanloser
Perils of the Warp isn't a Psychic Power, so Runi Armour would be of no use. However, a Belt of Russ or Storm Shield would both give you an Invulernable save (as would wearing TDA) to use. Toasterfree
why would you have to reroll the invul save? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182316-runic-armor/#findComment-2157068 Share on other sites
JamesI
why would you have to reroll the invul save? Perils of the warp requires successful invul saves to be rerolled. Its part of the description of Perils of the Warp in the BRB. rodgers37
I don't really see the attraction of Runic armour, i think it should have an Inv. save alltogether really, its all runic and stuff :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182316-runic-armor/#findComment-2157111 Share on other sites

Wispy
You guys are kidding, right? If it did that, it'd be like terminator armor with none of the limitations. Besides, if you wanted, you can get a runic armor and a belt of russ on your wolf lord for almost the same price as termy armor. That way he can ride with your manz in a rhino and still carry a frost blade (with pistol! extra attack!) with better protection (4+ invul save, and a psychic save the termy armor doesn't have). Except the 4+ will in all cases be better than the 5+ from runic armor- you see, it gives you an Invulnerable save vs psychic powers... you already get one from the belt of russ, thus, the 5++ from RA is redundant. And will be most of the time. Thats probly why we get it for the price most chapters pay for artificer armor. Wispy
I was being silly - it's still an invul save, not a special one vs psychcis, of course you'd want the real invul save over the psychic one. Frosty the Pyro
I think of runic armor alot like wolf claws. It is strictly superior to the SM version (artifacer armor) just like wolf claws are superior to lightning claws. And just like wolf claws I do not think its worth the extra cost. Edit Of course for units that just get it (such as iron preist) its a pure advantage. Frosty the Pyro
Nope, perils of the warp is perils of the warp, regarless of weather you rolled a 2 or a 12. you have to reroll your inv save either way.
