Stormbrow II
I've been reading through the Codex and I'm looking at splitting up WG packs where it says they can leave their pack and be assigned to another squad. The thing I'm wondering is when I buy a WG squad of 3 guys, can I split them all and have them jump into other packs or do I need to keep a minimum of 3 of them as a pack before they can be split up? Brother Santios
From what i've read in the codex i'm pretty sure that you can just put them straight in as upgrades and not run a seperate wolfguard .. altho as ever I could be wrong but i havnt read anything to the contrary. Evilmerlin
You need to buy a minimum squad of 3 Wolf Guard as an Elite choice first. The splitting is done before the game, not during list building. They are not purchased as upgrades to the individual squads. 3 Wolf Guards in a squad can all be split off. Bearboy
One thing I'm thinking about: You buy 3 wolf gaurd, 2 get split off to other squads. Can you have that 3rd one as his own squad? Evilmerlin
Yup, the last guy will be his own squad. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182413-wolf-guard-pack-size-question/#findComment-2157834 Share on other sites

In this situation you really wouldnt have any other choice- yes, hed be a squad of 1. Incapable of joining a unit, wandering the battlefield alone, awaiting that final lascannon shot. Or joined by like three HQ choices :). Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182413-wolf-guard-pack-size-question/#findComment-2157835 Share on other sites
