My Chaos Legion

Greetings all, I'm new to B&C and new to playing Chaos Marines. So first off hello to all the community out there, my name is Ryan and I like Chaos Undivided.

Well for my chaos army I've made my own warband of marines, they are called the Omega Legion. They paint scheme is Lich purple and Silver and the chapter symbol is an upside down Ultramarines symbol (the Greek letter omega) and their war cry proudly scrawled across their vehicles is "Bring the end". Basically the fluff I've made for them is a little all over he place so I'm looking for input. Its meant to be made such that each player I meet can have his own take on what I am.

First with the purple tint of blue and red and the upside down Ultramarines crest they could appear to be renegade Ultramarines or Sons of Gulliman.

It could be that their was a split between the twin Primarchs and these are the forces of Omegon.

It could be that The Alpha Legion has sent out a small force under different colors to sow dissent and insurrection amongst the Imperium while supporting cultist activity.

It could also be a renegade band of marines from out of the maelstrom bent on destruction and causing havoc around the Imperium.

So to all you out there.... what do you think?

Welcome Ryan,

I think you've got a good grasp on the 'best' angle to take on the codex as it stands. Aside from Red Corsairs, it is very difficult to play any of the other legions of... 'legend' so to speak. But by doing your own thing, you have no limitations. I think it's a great idea, and you've got some good background to work on some history for your chapter.

Greetings Nova Scotian (proper?) Ryan.

Omega means "the End" which is great for your warcry or battlecry. It also can mean the "End Result of things" so to rush to the end result may be a twisted viewpoint of maybe a self damaging society being rushed to oblivion with the help of Omega Marines. Or an altruistic society (maybe Tau) to reach the enlightenment that war is the only social constant and they should be educated thoroughly.

Force personal views, to enforce the act of their views. Plenty of fluff to generate here. Just a little direction is all you need. I'm sure you can justify just about anything from the codex to use.

Any ideas of the list you will run with yet?

Thanks for the input guys, I'll answer some of the questions. I am trying to put some good work into this army as I find the fluff to be one of the most interesting aspects of 40k. I do have the name of my 1st squads Aspiring Champion, Brother Artaxes, a contracted form of a Greek name meaning "great warrior". I'm still trying to think of good meaningful names for other marines especially my Lord. Not a light decision to make so I'm taking my time with it, any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Of all things the Omega legion loathes, it is the Ecclesiarchy that they hate most. They take extreme pleasure in dismantling the false gods places of worship and takings his icons as there own to spite them. They operate randomly all across the Imperium but particularly in the Sabbat worlds. Their goal is to help inspire cult activity and undermine faith in the Emperor. As a favored enemy they view any chance to engage the Adepta Sororitas as a moment not to pass up. They also share an exceptional hatred for all xenos with loyal astartes.

The list I plan to run is going to focus on vanilla marines and their variants such as raptors and havocs. I want to have a 60/40 mix of CC to Shooting with a look minimize any units that don't fit into a "hit and run" approach. For the short term I'm going to use a single unit of cult troops ('Zerkers) as a unit to go with my lord. If anyone has any suggestions they would be most appreciated.
