Being recently blessed with a GW opening in town I have been able to play and battle a large variety than ever hoped. Even though my army size is currently limited.

On sat I helped in an apocalypse. 3 chaos, 2 orks vs tau, IG and Space Puppies. My contribution? 10 GK deepstriking with 2 incinerators.

Lesson#1 In a massive team apocalyps, dont put all your units in reserve. Its a long wait.

With a valkerie grounded turn one and a lot of chaos getting frighteningly close to Tau, goodies were in for a slaughter. My turn came. Chose a spot able to burn some otherwise ignored gitz. Scatter dice said otherwise. My only squad of 10 knights died on incoming...

Lesson#2 Deepstriking is not as easy as it looks...

Out of kindness I was allowed to try again next turn. Waiting 3 hours to not get a chance is evil. The turn ensued involving kroots bounce off a squiggoth, Gazgul single handidly blow up a stormlord killing the 40 guardsmen inside and a late comer stomper find out he never brought any ammo. More soon.

Edit: Ok for some reason my ps3 gave me a character limit, so I shall finish this battl summary now.

Yay turn 3 for the good! GK's back from the dead ready to deep strike once again. This time praying they will get to smite something... anything... Once again picked a neat spot on the flank of the untouched lootas. About now most of the Tau was nothing but BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! Scatter dice said no, putting me 11 inches futher away from the target, yet still alive.

Lesson#3 Even when it works, deepstrike doesnt always work.

Thankfully my incinerators were now in range of some lesser deamons (Hey if your gunna kill somthing) and a Ork Buggy. Neither survived the purging. The only thing I planned to do this Apocalypse and after waiting 6 hours, was over in 2 minuits. As more tau took a beating and SpaceMarines sent home crying, it became the enemys turn once more. Remeber that loota squad I have been trying to kill all day? Being the closest squad to them, they let rip on my GK. so did the cahos heavy weapon team. And some noisemakers. And some fallen angels.

Lesson#4 Deepstriking into the gunnline without due care and attention = Gunline shoots you

My shrouding never had a chance as such closeness. After being whittled down to 4 knights the store began to close. Just enough time for the Fallen angels to assault me. I lost by one point and due to fearless lost another knight.

Lesson#5 Dont just let your opponent charge you. Some time +1 attack could be the death of you.

Game Ends I only have the justicar left, where as the rest of my allies were already packing up their models.

We will get you next time... Just maybe not another apocalypse for a year or so =)

Will put tuesdays batrep on later.

Ok a week after, but I now have time to write up my first official battle.

750pts vs Chaos

My 750pt list written for allcomers.

He brought: (Numbers are not exact)

Plague Marines

Beserk Marines

Lots of Marines

Heavy weapon Team

Noise Marines

10 Terminators with one reaper cannon.

Terrain featured a ruin in the far left coner, another in the centre. I had a bunker in my terrain and some rock formations on my right.

I lost first deploy and first turn. Placed BC behind bunker out of enemy LOS. GK behind right boulder out of LOS and the Psycannons to the right of ther bunker with their backs against the edge of the board LOS only blocked by the buildings. Also keyed lance to the left ruins. His army deployed behind that ruin as a tight ramble.

Chaos Marines Turn 1:

Moved Terminators into LOS of psycannons and just under 36". Heavy were out of range so moved closer. Beserkers ran behind central building to the right. Rest of troops moved around building on left =) Only reaper was in range to shoot but shrouding miserably fell short.

Grey Knights Turn 1:

BC Moved to left of Bunker killed a Plague Marine. Psycannons shot at Terminators but no kills. GK's Move around boulder heading off beserkers.

CM T2:

Troops all moved the same way as before. Beserkers free of building cover now. ReaperCannon failed shrouding. So did Lascannon. =)

GK T2:

Lance arrived but I forgot to fire it, which had potential to hit some Terminators... GK's Moved back to just 24" away from beserkers and started fireing. Psycannons killed a noise marine. BC killed more Plague Marines.

CM T3:

Terminators give up on shrouding and head to give beserkers support. Same with heavy weapon team. Pestilians now behind boulder on my left.

GK T3:

Seeing him getting frustrated with my backpeddling tactics, I knew he was staring to make mistakes. John our local GW owner was making snide comments bout now. GKs AND Psycannons let rip into Beserkers killing many BC also moved around bunker to help fire. Beserkers luckily stayed on the board around 5 strong now. Lance scatterd violently, but did not hit anything.

CM T4:

Moving his Beserkers withing 12" and killed a single GK. Terminaters move forward again. Heavy team missed shrouding. Troops on left continued their path now into the open. He realised I wasnt going to move from behind the bunker.

GK T4:

Time for a turn around. Psycannons kill another Beserker, down to 4 now. GKs lunged forward shooting and then assulting killing every last one of those red cladded creatures. Unfortunatly they killed two of my men at the same time. BC returned behind bunker to fill the plague marines with bolter ammo. Lance scatters again... =)

CM T5:

Terminators fire upon my GKs killing the last two brave men.

Lesson #6 When assaulting, try not to get stuck afterwards out in open ground.

Noise marines killed a GK from the Psycannons. The Plague Marines ammo bounces off my Terminators. Losers

GK T5:

His army was now quite stringy. With his terminators now left with nothing to kill. My psycannons retreat behind the bunker to lay down mass firepower with the Terminators into the stinking Nurgle worshipers. They were tough, even after 6SB and 12 Psycannons one was still left standing. BC steped forward and purged the lone creature remaining. Because I can.

CM T6:

Terminators pass shrouding and kill the last standard GK from the psycannon squad. And Mass Bolter fire from the normal marines killed one of my Terminators. GRR should of learnt lesson#6 sooner.

GK T6:

Psycannons drop a terminator as the lance scatters into and obliterates the remainder of the noise marines. BC rather angry assaults the CSM killing 8 and taking non in return. As them creatures break and attempt to run away the BC and retuine cuts every last one of them.

Kill Tally

CSM

GK team

2 GK from Psycannon

1 GKT

GK

All CSM

All Beserkers

All Plague Marines

All Noise Marines

1 Chaos Terminator

=D

Might put up saturdays against Tau soon, where I learnt how not to take on Tau.
