fiffa99
hey ppl, I was just reading through the DH codex and was looking through the assasins rule, and the vindicare really grabbed my interest. Im used to playing heavy LR with my grey knights and i was thinking of taking a vindicare in my list. Here is my reasoning, in most cases there is only 1 or 2 weapons in an enemy squad that could hurt my LR (being meltas at short, and lascannons) unless the meltas are being drop podded in i dont see me getting close enough for them to be of eny use. If i could pop that lascannon in the enemy squad, the rest of the squad becomes pretty much useless against me. What do you guys think? suggestions? dreadmad
I think it could work well, remember though that you have to have an inquisitor to take an assasin which will use up a HQ squad. I'd be intrested to see how well it worked. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182472-vindicare-assasin-with-heavy-lr-list-will-it-work/#findComment-2158614 Share on other sites
fiffa99
yea i know you have to take the inquisitor, its only 20pts though. so its not a big pts investment. jeffersonian000
It's worth a try. The 4+ to wound is what keeps the Vindicar out of my DH army list, however, others have had success using him. Wildfire
yea i know u have to take the inquisitor, its only 20pts though. so its not a big pts investment. It's more than that. You only have one Elites slot open to allies, which means he has to be an inquisitor lord. They are more expensive, and have a minimum retinue too. True, but the OP is playing Daemonhunters rather than just allying them in, so that's not an issue in his case. That said, I don't find the need for an Inquisitor that serious; there are plenty of very useful builds for Inquistor + Retinue that are well worth their points even without the bonus of unlocking an assassin. For an LR-heavy list there's the ever popular Inquisitor with a couple mystics; it's always fun to allocate the anti-Deep Strike shots the mystics grant to a Land Raider.
