Quick-painting Wolves

I do think the dip method is fine for army standard painting, only used it once on my son nids and for nids worked great as the shiny wet look does.

Some of the colours can look a bit flat but then you cant beat it for time and if you want a quick fix this works very well

My first set of Wolves were painted by a mate of mine as a commission as I can't paint to save my life. Then they released the wash boxes and I thought I'd at least give them a go. I used a Sea Grey Humbrol spray as a base coat and then painted the other colours over the top of that and then used Devlan Mud to shade them. They're really good tabletop quality, which is all I'm after now. I don't like spending hours painting, so these were the perfect thing for me. I've also got a tin of quick shade, but the only time I tried it for my Wolves, the Grey was more near to Fortress Grey (I believe it was a Vallejo paint) and was way too light and it made him come out looking dirty. I swear by the 'dipping' method now (I usually paint the shade on for more control), but I would highly recommend putting at least the 1st highlights on the model before you dip them too as dipping makes things come out really quite dark once they're dry. If you look at one of my GHs I've tried adding a shoulder pad highlight as a test and it really makes a difference to the darkness of the model.

These are the Grey Hunters I painted in one evening using my method:

They won't look display standard using dipping, but my god does it fire out a nice looking army in very little time. It helped me paint a whole 1.5k IG list for a tournament in less than 2 weeks!
