Thunderwolves.. so good but so bad

The marines mounted on the hordes War Wolf models look the best so far. Not to mention there is little to no modification of the models so the conversion is simple in comparison the Dread Wolf (even though that model is just kick-arse).

None of these options is really cost effective though. The dread wolf would cost an arm and a leg and a keg of ale...that brothers is a price too high for a wolf to pay. Seriously, the War Wolf solo costs 13$ from PP, so there is 39$ to make a unit of three! Granted its better than the price you'd pay for Canis, a unit of three modeled from Canis would set you back over a hundred. Still, TWC currently is not cost effective, especially for the lowly BCs with precious little funds to spend on the hobby.

Above are some images with some other models for scale. after looking around for a bit i never really got a good idea of his hight or the scale of the model, 3 or 4 of these, with fleet and some fen wolves will be a fun list to play with.

Also how cheesy would it be to run 4 HQ's on TWM, im very tempted.

Hey Brothers,

I got this inspiration from a friend of mine, but here's what I'm doing:

Canis modified with a frost axe and shield as my wolf lord leading four "Wulfen" types. I'm using the Rakham Confrontation Wolfen (converted) to represent Wulfen (but count as TWC).

Then another Space Marine on a TWC with frost axe and shield leading another four wulfen.

I'll get pics once i put them together.

But this way I get a flavor of 13th company again.
