DarkUncle2003
Twin Thunder Hammers, this model will also have the big wolf pelt that comes with the TDA Sprue http://i508.photobucket.com/albums/s327/Walker203/Space%20Wolves/SW1.jpg http://i508.photobucket.com/albums/s327/Walker203/Space%20Wolves/SW2.jpg http://i508.photobucket.com/albums/s327/Walker203/Space%20Wolves/SW3.jpg http://i508.photobucket.com/albums/s327/Walker203/Space%20Wolves/SW4.jpg http://i508.photobucket.com/albums/s327/Walker203/Space%20Wolves/SW5.jpg Twin WC's http://i508.photobucket.com/albums/s327/Walker203/Space%20Wolves/SW10.jpg http://i508.photobucket.com/albums/s327/Walker203/Space%20Wolves/SW6.jpg http://i508.photobucket.com/albums/s327/Walker203/Space%20Wolves/SW7.jpg http://i508.photobucket.com/albums/s327/Walker203/Space%20Wolves/SW8.jpg http://i508.photobucket.com/albums/s327/Walker203/Space%20Wolves/SW9.jpg I want to add some battle damage to them and scuff them up a little bit, as well the photos were taken from my iPhone so they are a little grainy. I will also be putting them on different bases, I just use the standard bases to paint on so I don't mess up my fancier ones. Comments and criticism would be much welcomed. More photos to come! Also, I am looking to do a Krakendoom conversion. Does anyone have a good link to True-Scale converting? Thanks! Frijj
They are very well painted, and seem very very clean. I always imagine space wolves to be dirtier. But the only thing that i dislike is the orange skin tone. Melchiah
Think he's lookin' really good so far, look forward to seeing more photo's... Wasn't keen on the red details when I saw them on GW's Space Wolves, but you've managed to change my opinion! The only thing that I'm not keen on is the green Cables/details. Possibly yellow? Anyway, keep it up! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182567-space-wolves-wip-sorta-pic-heavy/#findComment-2159830 Share on other sites
DarkUncle2003
Thanks for the comments. I toned down the orange skin tone on the guy with twin thunder hammers. I also changed the wire colors to yellow instead of green and it looks great. Any other c&c welcome. New pics soon. DarkUncle2003
Twin thunder hammers complete http://i508.photobucket.com/albums/s327/Walker203/Space%20Wolves/021.jpg http://i508.photobucket.com/albums/s327/Walker203/Space%20Wolves/022.jpg http://i508.photobucket.com/albums/s327/Walker203/Space%20Wolves/023.jpg http://i508.photobucket.com/albums/s327/Walker203/Space%20Wolves/024.jpg http://i508.photobucket.com/albums/s327/Walker203/Space%20Wolves/025.jpg Please C&C. I am trying to work out a good theme for my wolves. I am also WIP on an Engir Krakendoom true scale. He is going to have Storm Shield, Frost Axe and Runic Armor. Pics will be up when I get a chance to do some work on him. Nikolakhs
I think these are great, honestly. Clean, neat, structured, and they have a definite style to them. The one thing that would be nice though is if you distinguished the fingers on the second guy, as they seem to be just one red mass. Thunder hammer guy is nice... how'd you do the purity seals? -Nikolakhs Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182567-space-wolves-wip-sorta-pic-heavy/#findComment-2161464 Share on other sites
FuriousFerret
Your painting skills are amazing. However, I wonder about the armor color. To me these guys seem too blue, almost like classic Ultramarines (before their armor got darkened in 4th ed.) Did you consciously go for a bright blue? Or is it just your camera playing havoc? DarkUncle2003
Thanks for the comments so far guys! I did reference the Ultramarines blue and it does look similar. I just did not like the light sky-blue look of the gw Wolves and wanted something I could highlight up and wash down. Shadow Grey was the perfect color for that. I would like some input on whether I should weather and add battle damage to these gentlemen. ( I just got my 7 boxes of wolf packs, and my next box of Wolf TDA's) I was a Harald Deathwolf fan but I think I am going to do Engir Krakendoom and his great company. Do you think that he would utilize lots of TDA/Skyclaws given his role as Fleet Operations. I also see him as using Saga of Majesty. Any opinions?
