What is the name of our Wolf Lord?

Branek Deathwolf

Always rides to battle along side:

Battle Leader Durdin

Battle Leader Girom

What is your Lord's equipment?

Frost Blade

Bolt Pistol

Wolf Tooth Necklace

Meltabombs

Belt of Russ

Thunderwolf Mount

Saga of Majesty

(Hes a very expensive warrior - somewhere in the vicinity of 200-250 points :) )

If your lord is not a canon lord then what is his speciality?

Break the back of the enemy force in a short range fire fight before crushing everything before him with a devastating cavalry charge.

Name: Oskar Banewolf

Kit: Rune armor, Thunder Hammer, Storm Shield, Saga of the Bear, and a personal droppod named The Ale Can.

Specialty: Finding the enemy and bashing their skulls in. (footslogging when not dropping)

Company Roster: about 160ish, lots of longfangs who stay alive but the crazy skyclaws keep getting themselves killed.

Current Great Company: 2k at a stretch, soon to grow much larger.

What is the name of your lord?

Haroth Skyhunter

What is your lord's equipment?

- jump pack, 2 wolf claws, Belt of Russ, wolf tail talisman

- Saga of the Warrior Born

Expensive, yes, but with his good initiative, attacks & weapon skills, he should just about mince anything he takes on. He'll also be joined by about 4-5 Wolf Guard with jump packs, too. Think Vanguard Vets but from Fenris.

If your lord is not a canon lord then what is his specialty?

Other than assaults? Haroth favours a typically aggressive style of battle; he'll often set his Grey Hunters and (few) Long Fangs up in a staggerred battle line, with a slow advance. These units typically harrass the enemy and wipe out key targets. Whilst all this is happening, Haroth uses his Thunderhawks to deploy units of Skyclaws & jumppack-equipped Wolf Guard into the fray, inserting them amongst weak points in the enemy line. Haroth himself often leads a hand-picked team of Wolf Guard into the fray against the enemy commanders.

"Know this, pup. Though The Skyhunter may charge head long into battle as if he were still a Blood Claw, his temperment and demeanour belies the fact that he is none the less a brilliant tactician. The fact that he seems a wild, raging, beast is what makes him so dangerous."

- 'Wise' Yorek, Wolf Guard, Haroth Skyhunter's Great Company

How many men will your company be at full strength?

Around 130-170, I haven't decided yet.

How many points is your Great Company currently?

750, but that is just the first list I have drawn up. It is yet to be built.

How many points will your Great Company top out at?

Honestly? I have no idea. It all depends if I decide to build the whole company or not.

My Great Company is the Claw Scar

What is the name of your lord?

Hrathnar Flintfang

What is your Lord's equipment?

Runic Armor

Frost Axe

Bolt Pistol

Belt of Russ

Wolf Tooth Necklace

Saga of the Warrior Born

Melta bombs and Thunder Wolf will be negotiable upon point list, once I find a suitable wolf

If your lord is not a canon lord then what is his specialty?

Hrathnar is rather eccentric. His main specialty lies in leading his Wolf guard, and his Wolf guard in turn specialize in leading his other units. in the old dex that meant just about every unit got a kitted out WG. May reign back on that a bit.

How many men will your company be at full strength? (Not including tank crew or priests, or HQ choices)

170 is current Estimate, many of which are Wolf Guard and Blood claws. Few Grey Hunters survive long without proving themselves worthy of being wolf guard at some point, those that do often end up growing into long fangs at a fast enough rate so that the number of Blood Claws and Wolf guard are almost equal and at times GH may even be lower.

2000, but will be more shortly

How many points will your Great Company top out at?

No idea

As for the Claw scar themselves, I have written several stories about them, with more to come. They are a wild and reckless bunch even by normal wolf standards, and while Hrathnar does not have the same rage and fury as young Ragnar he is just as foolhardy, or at least seems to act as such. Often there will be an unforseen method to the madness. Hrathnar is a very 'hands on' commander who prefers to get into the thick of things with his closest warrior brethren and because of this he often takes a relatively light compliment of younger brothers when he goes on a mission himself.

Even when the lord chooses to stay behind in a campaign the wolf guard will take his place as entrenched leaders, usually riding in on Thunder Wolves or accompanying ground forces in a rhino or on foot wearing Terminator armor. Packs usually have one Wolf guard that stays with them though their advancement as a leader up until the point that the pack is wiped out or its members join with the Wolf Guard. Even the few Long Fangs within the Great company may be accompanied by the same wolf guard should he survive, or by a pack member who made it into the Guard if not.

Blood Claws who join the Claw Scar are all actually encouraged to throw themselves headlong into the foes whenever possible. This could account for the companies high attrition rate, but it is seen as a way of further promoting growth. Blood Claws learn to fight the way children on Fenris learn to swim. They get it right or they die.

When not in combat it is often common for Hrathnar and his Wolf guard to sit around the mead hall spinning tales and one-upping each other in all manner of challenges, from who can drink the most ale to who can make the most savory Snowhare Stew. Every member of the Claw Scar is a fervent believer in the concept of making merry when not at war regardless of the circumstances, since they see it as the very legacy of Russ himself. Those other wolves who work with Claw Scar brothers have been known to state that they "Always have a joke on their lips, even when you really, truly don't want them to."

Very short synopsis. Very tired right now.

What is the name of your lord?

Ragnar Blackmane. I've been using Ragnar as my primary Wolf Lord since he came out about a year and a half before 2nd edition. Luckily for me, GW produced the metal shoulder pad with Ragnar's Great Company symbol on them, so I've invested in those for everyone in power armour, as well as the metal shoulder pads with the various appropriate pack markings on them, so there is no way that I'm going to change Wolf Lords now. However, he doesn't necessarily have to attend every battle, and occasionally another hero from his Great Company will lead a detachment into battle.

What is your Lord's equipment?

Frost Fang and all of the other goodies that Ragnar comes with.

If your lord is not a canon lord then what is his specialty?

He is canon, of course, and I stick with his theme as much as possible, with at least 3 Drop Pods in the army list. I also have elected not to use any tracked vehicles (no tanks, transports or artillery), as I don't feel that they "fit" in Ragnar's Claws of Russ planetary assaults.

How many men will your company be at full strength? (Not including tank crew or priests, or HQ choices)

Well, according to the fluff Ragnar's Great Company is close to 200 Marines. I, however, do not plan on building my force to be anywhere near that large, so I will only collect a representative "slice" of the whole. I haven't bothered with Apocolypse, so there is no drive to try and collect much more than what I've already got:

40 Grey Hunters

12 Blood Claws

5 Long Fangs

6 Wolf Scouts

6 Swift Claws

10 Sky Claws

10 Wolf Guard Terminators

6 Wolf Guard in Power Armour (including 1 with a Bike)

2 Dreadnoughts

However, if GW eventually releases a plastic kit for Thunderwolves, then I'll add a unit of TWC.

How many points is your Great Company currently?

About 3000.

How many points will your Great Company top out at?

Ha, about 3000.

Well I'm curious about the Great Companies my fellow brothers are buidling. So a few questions for you:

What is the name of your lord?

Fullugi Ironfang

What is your Lord's equipment?

Frost Axe

Storm Bolter

Belt of Russ

Frags

tooth Necklace

Tail Talisman

(Optional Fenrisian Wolves)

(Optional Thunderwolf Mount) [Going to build another model of him with the same nitpicky parts using Canis to start.]

If your lord is not a canon lord then what is his specialty?

Originally it was supposed to be armored, but after suffering heavy tank losses in my games, I'm considering switching them to rapid assault using lots of bikes and Thunder/Fenrisian wolves.

How many men will your company be at full strength? (Not including tank crew or priests, or HQ choices)

Probably 85 or 90. Roughly counting all infantry (HQ or not. Take that, rules!), I have 65 bodies to throw onto the field.

Wolf Guard Battle Biker leader

Two Wolf Priests

Two Rune Priests

One Iron Priest with no thralls.

I have Three GH packs and two BC packs. (Plus one of the new SW pack kits waiting to be built/scavenged)

Two dreadnoughts

Four bikers (With three more waiting to be built)

Two Attack Bikes

Five Skyclaws

Two landspeeders

Land Raider

Predator Destructor 2xHB

Predator Destructor 2xLC

Predator Annihilator 2xHB

Vindicator

Whirlwind

Rhino x1

one LEMAN RUSS EXTERMINATOR! (Which will never be forgotten as it's wall-of-bullet awesomeness, but will be going over to my Guard now)

6x Fenrisian Wolves to dish around.

How many points is your Great Company currently?

About 3445

How many points will your Great Company top out at?

Probably around 4,000, excluding any Apoc stuff, since I don't think I'll ever get to play that. If I do, I have five Leman Russes, Two hellhounds, a Baneblade, A Valkyrie, A platoon of IG, a Squad of Sisters + Immolator and 5 GK's to field along with my SW.

A little about the Company

All of my HQ's are named, as are all the packs. But without the master army list in front of me, the pack names escape me.

Several of the HQ's have been making appearances in my IG fanfiction. (Two so far, with some lower Space Wolves and there will be more to come) The Wolf Priest Eyarr the Quiet has been providing support to the main character, Lillith Icaeria, for reasons as yet unknown to her, but she is beginning to piece it together slower than the readers can.

As the 44th and 51st Cadian regiments battle to secure the planet Torax from invading Chaos forces, the Space Wolves Ironfang Company, en route to provide assistance with the Third Armageddon War, are drawn to Torax by urgent requests for aid. The Space Wolves land to find a half-wasted Infantry regiment, and a worn-down Armored Regiment trying to uphold the will of the Emperor. With bizarre traitor activity observed, and bone-grinding seasonal ice storms beginning to intensify, the Space Wolves and the Cadians must figure out just what the frak is going on, and find a way to liberate the people of Torax from the wretched Chaos Space Marines. If there are any people left...

One Dreadnought is the subject of his own fanfic, titled Fangs of Skaldyr, which takes place 46 years before on the same planet of Torax, however the Space Wolves are aided only by the Blood Angels in retaking the northern hemisphere from traitorous Emperor's Children.

A little about the Company

100 years before Audun became the Wolf Lord, 2/3rds of the Great company was lost in the Warp, including the Wolf Lord, Varik the Steadfast, known for his calm in all situations and unrelenting nature. 60 years after the incident, when the Company had recovered it's losses, whilst fighting elements of Waaagh Daftie, the new Wolf Lord, most of his guard and half of the companys Grey hunters were slain in a surprise attack by the "lost ones", the 2/3rs of the company. The "lost ones" declared themselves to be the "Vantom Wolves" and in league with the forces of Chaos, and were still lead by the fallen Wolf Lord Varik, who now possesed staggering Daemonic powers and appeared to have fallen to the Curse of the Wulfen, but still had control of his thoughts, possibly due to the influence of Chaos. The weapons of the loyal Space wolves having little to no effect on their fallen brothers, they were forced to retreat.

The surviving few Wolf Guard elected another Wolf Lord, and for 40 years the Company has suffered many such attacks by the Vantom Wolves, who dissapear back into the Warp at the end of every battle, and their numbers dwindled, whilst the rest of the chapter has been untouched by the Vantom Wolves, causing the other companies to see the Company with superstition, believing the Vantom Wolves to be the nemesis of those who were not taken by the warp 60 years ago, and the members of the company began to believe this as well, thinking themselves doomed to be hunted by ghosts and shadows for eternity. Indeed, one of the Rune Priests foretold that unless the Vantom Wolves were themselves slain by their hands, then the Company faced complete damnnation in the depths of the Warp and denied the chance to fight at the Wolftime, which semmed an impossibe task, as the Vantoms appeared to be invincible.

At the end of the 40 years, the Wolf Lord and all of his Wolf Guard were confronted by Varik alone, and he slew them all except the newest member, Audun, who had yet to earn a true title. As the only Wolf Guard, Audun became the Wolf Lord with the consent of the Companys Long Fangs and Wolf Scouts in the absence of other Wolf Guard.

In Auduns first command, he was sent to the eastern fringe in an effort to stall the rapid advance of the Tau empire, and whilst fighting on a world taken from the imperium, encountered the Grey Knights, who were called in by the Ordo Malleus, who had uncovered evidence of a Greater Daemon held captive deep in the planets crust, and was now using it's powers to make the Tau release it. During a major conflict, Audun, a squad of Grey Hunters and the 5 Grey Knights infiltrated the underground complex where the Daemon was about to be released, and were ambushed by a force of Vantom Wolvess, and in which Audun desparetly fought Varik to a stalemate. They found that, while their weapons were still ineffective, they could banish the Vantoms temporarily with the aid of the Grey Knights psychic powers. The Daemon remained sealed and the Tau efforts to take the world crushed. In the aftermath, the Grey Knights used Virus Bombs to make sure that there was no reason for the Tau to attempt to re-take the planet. Naturally the Space Wolves were move than angry at this, but restrained themselves because they needed the Grey Knights to escape their fate.

For 20 Years, the Company of Audun has traveled with the Grey Knights and replenishing their numbers, keeping the Grey Knights safe from the majority of the enemy forces whilst they banish Daemons. They are currently attempting to find the Vantoms base of operations within the Eye of Terror in order to put end their wandering and return to the chapter, or die.

They are counted among the companys represented by the 13th stone, and are not usually welcomed at the fang, due to their need to escape their fate, which means that they cannont fight alongside their bretheren, as the Vantoms would be unstoppable even then. They are still permitted to take on supplies and recruits, so long as it's not too many or too often.

Company Background

Aesir came to be a Wolf Lord when he rose into glory in the eyes of his fellow wolf guard on Prius-Tertius. Prius-Tertius had been an agri-world that had produced large quantities of food for the Imperium’s armies. In late m41 it had been invaded by the mysterious elder of the Biel-Tan craftworld. Gunnar Red Moon and his company were passing through the system after a recent victory against the green skins when they had received a distress call from the planet.

Lord Red Moon immediately committed his company to re-taking the agri-world and while the campaign was successful overall it would end with tragedy. Near the closing weeks of the campaign the Space Wolves had the Eldar cornered inside the capitol city of Prius-Tertius. Leading the assault personally with his wolf guard at his side, Gunnar Red Moon led his forces into the last remnants of the Eldar. It was when confronted with the enemy command cadre tragedy struck; an ancient wraithlord struck Gunnar down. Aesir seeing his lord and master dead rose into great fury; quickly discarding his broken chainsword Aesir picked up a glaive from a dead warlock and proceeded to cut a bloody path through the Eldar army and towards the wraithlord and his lord’s body. Aesir single-handedly smote the wraithlord with his stolen glaive and personally held its head aloft for all to see. Seeing their ancient champion dead the elder quickly became demoralized and were easily slaughtered be the Space Wolves.

Recovering the bodies of their fallen kin and their lord the Space Wolves, their campaign finished now, made haste through the warp to their home world of Fenris. It was on the voyage to Fenris that Aesir’s pack brothers in the wolf guard sent an astropathic message ahead of them to the Great Wolf; telling of Aesir’s deeds and recommending that Aesir take the place of Wolf Lord over the great company; this message also came with a personal request from the pack that having seen Aesir’s righteous slaughter, the iron priests be set upon making a frost glaive made out of the finest energized diamond that could be found for Aesir. The Great Wolf approved of Aesir’s recommendation and also the forging of a weapon for Aesir and set Tyr, one of the greatest iron priests, to the task of forging the glaive.

It was on the company’s return to Fenris and the Fang that all was made official. Aesir was promoted to Wolf Lord over the company and was also presented the glaive that his pack brothers had commissioned for him. As soon as Aesir laid his eyes onto the glaive he wept at the beauty, for it was masterfully forged. The Iron Priest Tyr having personally forged it and presented it to Aesir along with a suit of runic armour told Aesir that the weapon had a name; Deathglaive. Aesir greatfully accepted Deathglaive and upon reception of the blade he declared that he would keep the symbol of the wolf of the red moon and that his company and himself were to take on a new name; Deathglaive.

Aesir is a grim and imposing; even more so then most space marines. Around an average height for a space marine, Aesir is relatively thin compared to most marines and is also rather pale; all this only makes him look old beyond his years and his beard doesn’t help the issue, being long and grey, though Aesir is only of the young and ripe age of 150. On the battlefield Aesir looks very much the part of the Red Wolf, walking through the hells of war as if they were nothing, visiting vengeance upon the enemies of the Imperium, always accompanied by his lupine companions Syn and Warg. Aesir is a grim individual and is often prone to great bouts of violence and anger and thus he and his company are housed near the top of the fang, and rarely do Space Wolves from other companies or outsiders ever come into this sanctum for fear of what may possibly await them. Aesir’s own marines are also very cautious around their lord though they would gladly follow him into the seven hells themselves and back. The only marines besides the Great Wolf and his company that are not weary of Aesir are Aesir’s brothers in his wolf guard pack and they share a bond as close as one can get to Aesir unless you are one of his wolves; often they can be heard sharing jokes and having a laugh with their lord though if any outsider heard of this they would never believe it.

Of the wolf guard, Aesir’s most trusted friends and advisers there are heroes of many a tale who could lead a great company themselves but often refuse in favour of staying by Aesir’s side for they are his balancing force and his greatest friends. The pack leader of the wolf guard pack and equerry to Aesir is Odin. Odin is very old and wise; going on 750 years, and yet there is not one grey hair on him. Odin is Aesir’s right hand and will often go to briefings and musterings in place of his lord, as Aesir finds these things distasteful. Whereas Odin is calculating and wise Thor is boisterous and loud. Many have seen Thor as no more then a simple fool who should still be part of a blood claw pack and it has always been their folly. Thor is the strongest marine in the company and is often seen wielding a thunder hammer. Thor is the voice of violence and war in Aesir’s ear and is one of the finest strategic thinkers in the company; though he does enjoy going straight up the middle in a battle. Vidar is the youngest of all Aesir’s wolf guard having been only recently recruited but he has gained much favour. Vidar was recruited straight out of the blood claws but is surprisingly level headed. Vidar is ever the comedian and is the only one of the wolf guard to ever make Aesir laugh uncontrollably and Aesir values him because Vidar can diffuse any situation with his humour or sometimes his Wolf Claw. The last of the wolf guard pack that warrants mention though all are heroes in their own right is Hellheim. Hellheim is very pessimistic and cautious; he is also the pack’s weapon specialist and can often be seen in his suit of tactical-dreadnought armour firing everything form assault cannons to missile launchers, all the wile striding forward relentlessly.

What is the name of your lord?

What is your Lord's equipment?

Terminator Armour

Belt of Russ

Dual Thunderhammers

Wolftooth Necklace

Wolf Tail Talisman

Saga of the Bear

If your lord is not a canon lord then what is his specialty?

Not so much a specialty, but a theme. Geralt has a strong dislike for cowardice, and men unwilling, or incapable of meeting their foes in hand to hand combat. He picks his men for their courage, their ferocity and their wits. Won't have many (if any) tanks, the army being completely on foot (some units with transports). Due to the short life expectancy i'm looking to field a few lone wolves, and dreadnoughts
