Brother Tyler
Just in case you didn’t notice, the Bolter & Chainsword is holding a contest to design some Apocalypse datasheets that will be made available for download from the site. The theme for the contest was the Eye of Terror campaign in which Abaddon the Despoiler led his thirteenth Black Crusade out of the Eye of Terror and into the Cadian Gate. The contest is designed around two stages. In the first stage, members were invited to design datasheets. In the second stage, members are invited to paint up miniatures in order to pick the ones that will be on each datasheet. Well, we’ve completed Stage 1 and have chosen both the winners and a few of the other submissions that received sufficiently high marks to be turned into datasheets. Now we turn to Stage 2 in which we’ll get some models to represent the datasheets. How does this apply to you? For starters, anyone is allowed to submit images for the datasheets – you don’t have to have submitted any datasheets in the contest in order to do this. In addition, we’ll be using the same image cloning techniques that Games Workshop has used. This means that you’ll only have to paint up a handful of models to represent the various formations. Lastly, there are two datasheets that might appeal to the members of this forum. The first datasheet is the Space Marine Vengeance Force, a small force of Space Wolves led by a Wolf Lord to invoke the Emperor’s justice on a traitor Space Marine. The minimum required models for this datasheet are: Wolf Lord, and one of the following:1 Wolf Guard pack consisting of 3 Wolf Guard 1 Wolf Scouts pack consisting of 3 Wolf Scouts The second datasheet is the Spear of Russ, a Space Wolves drop pod assault. The minimum required models for this datasheet are: 1 Wolf Lord 1 Deathstorm Drop Pod 1 Grey Hunters pack consisting of 3 Grey Hunters 1 Drop Pod You can paint more than the minimum required models, of course. If you think you’re up to that, you should check out the specifics on the datasheets linked in the datasheet names above. So if you think you’re up to the challenge of becoming the Space Wolves player whose miniatures are immortalized on a Bolter & Chainsword Approved Apocalypse datasheet, get to work. The deadline for submitting images is midnight EST on Saturday 28 November, 2009. This means you have about five weeks. You can find more information about the Apocalypse: Eye of Terror contest here, and specifics on the Modeling & Painting stage here.
