Chaos Space Marine Special Characters

I am posting this for a friend, I have Searched but not found anything.

 

Are Chaos Special Characters the same as Space marine ones in the way that you can use them under a differant name and for a differant force.

I'm pretty sure, the wonder of "count-as" right?

 

That being said, almost nobody uses Chaos characters because they are usually a sub-par choice compared to Daemon Princes. Khârn is probably the only viable one in most armies, the others are either too expensive or limited by silly rules like a lack of Eternal Warriors.

Ofcourse you can do that the Loyalist do it all the time :(

In high point games I find Abbadon quite usefull. That means ofcourse if he makes it further then the first round he is in (Turn 1 of deployed or turn 2+ if he deep strickes)

Yes. This is the wonderful age of Counts-As, go nuts! :D

Abbadon can go toe to toe with the greater daemon of khorne: bloodthirster.

Tested it myself over 70 tests with the "who gets the charge" randomized. Abbadon won more then 34 of those games before I lost count beyond 70. ( I really should have put it on paper)

yes only a thirster has 18" of range and abadon has 12" . thirster ignores terrain abadon does not. the only way to help abadon charge is to get a LR, but that doubles his cost. unless someone uses FW demon lords , no thirster costs 500 pts.

 

 

as others said , chaos hqs are sub par the only semi good one is Khârn and only that because he is cheap and khorn HQ tend to suck even when they are not specials.

Toe to toe, he is rough and can be hidden inside a unit of something else. Thirster doesn't get that option. It was discussed they both have their own perks, one works with the army, the other is a stand alone unit. Be shameful to add abbadon and not have the units to help him out rather then deep strike a thirster and hope it lives until it can be used.
