Olgerth Istaarn
Consider this an admission of utter lack of tactical imagination... Would the Master of Runes upgrade be worth for a TDA priest that is a part of Land Raider-equipped TDA Wolfguard squad? And if so, why? Toasterfree
ive found that i could use those 50 points somewhere else, just because the powers i select are both shooting. i have no real foot slog so i have no need for storm caller, but if you have foot slog then yes take it, runes and storm. the other power i would suggest is living lightning Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182833-rune-priest/#findComment-2162724 Share on other sites

Most of the powers are shooting psychic powers, which you couldn't cast more than one in a turn anyway. Once you get into close combat, then you can't use the shooting powers and might possibly just use your Rune Weapon's Instant Death ability. Would the Master of Runes upgrade be worth for a TDA priest that is a part of Land Raider-equipped TDA Wolfguard squad? And if so, why? A 5+ cover save without having to pop smoke is nice, and Tempests Wrath is wonderful against tau, eldar, and alot of other random codex units.... so it could be. But I think the biggest thing is going to be stormcaller, and then being able to use your force weapon first turn. Very flexable. Not a must have, but nice. Quillen
You get out of the LRC and nuke the squad with an ability. Then close into melee and use your force weapon. I believe that is right. Or you can through the storm up and then do something else. Is it worth 50 points? Noi but this is the nerf marine edition. So everything you need is over priced. Hfran Morkai
It depends greatly on your use of the powers, remember that two physic tests a turn means your twice as likely to get him hurt and unlike our codex bretheren there's no nice 3+ save, even if you have to re-roll successes. Aeddon
Why don't you tell us which powers you plan on taking? That way most of the speculation can be cut out and we can give you half intelligible responses.
