Combi's vs. Wolf claws on TDA wolf gaurd

Now I know that Wolf Claws are better than power weapons, but for 5 points throwing down a template or using a melta seems like a good steal. However the bolter part is worse than the storm bolter and I'm just look for your opinion on if it's worth the five points.
I have a ten man shooting pack (for apocalypse, I'll use a smaller unit in normal games) and two have chainfists and the other 8 have wolf claws as I love the ability to re-roll, that and the box doesn't contain enough power weapons.
For my generic TDA Wolf Guard. I'm going to be doing Combi-Melta/Plasma and Wolf Claw. For the points, I think the option to use a special weapon and a regular bolter out weighs the Storm Bolter. Too bad it's not a Storm Bolter based Combi weapon.

The fact is, 5pts is very little to pay to upgrade your power weapon to a wolf claw. Also, 5pts is very little to pay for a one time melta/plasma shot.

10pts is not much to pay to make your termie awesome. They're just 3 more points than codex terms, and far more mean and flexible.

Alright so combi's are a go, which of the three is best for a general one time use? I'm thinking flamer, because a chainfist would do the same as melta, and plasma(I think) should be taken as pistols by a PA wolf gaurd.

I'd suggest a mix so you have tactical flexibility, if you're close enough to use either you're close enough to rapid fire, so you might be lucky and glance a vehicle with your bolter or stop a couple of enemies with bolter rounds, saving your weapon until you need it.

Depending if you're only going 5 TDA Wolf Guard, I think 5 Combi-Weapons, 5 Wolf Claws, and a Cyclone Missle Launcher would be the way to go. Wolf Claws for the Re-Roll. Combi-Weapons for the Special Occasion, and Cyclone Missle Launcher for either Troop or Anti-Armor.

As for the 5 Combi-Weapons, I would go 2 Meltas and 3 Plasmas. With this Squad, I believe it would be the most devistating while drop podding.

I'm looking for a three TDA set up to run with my Lord and Priest in a redeemer. And yes that's all I have points for, though it will come from a full pack so I can take any of the special weapons.

This is another swiss army knife type question. If you are loading them in a land raider by all means load up on WC's, if they are drop podding some or all should have some type of combi weapon as you will not assault when you arrive and you may as well maximize on some shooting. That said, at least once guy should probably have twin WC's in the DPing pack.

So like many things the answer to your question is "it's situational".
