Kronk
Situation: 1. A 10-man unit is not in area cover, but has cover from a missile launcher and his tactical squad due to 50% of the target squad being out of site of the shooting squad (Behind a building, behind a vehicle, whatever). 2. The missile launcher guy shoots at the closest dude with a frag grenade and the blast template doesn't scatter. 3. There are 3 guys under the blast template. None of these guys are in area terrain (or area cover, as it were). 4. Rolling wounds, all 3 are hit. 5. Is a cover save allowed? The only thing I can find is that the barrage weapons state that they use the blast weapon rules with the following exceptions, and then go on to say that you determine cover saves by assuming the hit comes from the center of the blast. The thing is, the blast template rules don't say anything about cover. I am inferring from the Barrage weapon that if the non-barrage shooter can't see 50% or more of the target squad, they get a save, regardless if they are in area terrain. I was just hoping for something more explicit. Can anyone out there on the interweb point me to a reference? Thanks, and good night. rat of vengence
They get cover. The barrage rules don't come into it, because it isn't barrage. The normal template rules don't really mention cover (afaik) since it is dealt with the same as any other shot.
