DaemonPrinceDargor
Hello guys!Following up on my Emperor's Children, this is the start of my second Pre-Heresy army, the Wolves of Russ. The army is going to be themed around the assault on Prospero and the Thousand Sons, what with the new codex and the HH books coming out in the spring. This a quick test model i put together and painted, hope you like him! :P http://img2.imageshack.us/img2/8065/gh1e.jpg http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/9720/gh2ng.jpg http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/5323/gh3.jpg http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/9261/gh4l.jpg Cheers! Gv0zD
looks nice! Very clean painting and well detailed, I should add. May I make a suggestion? If the army will themed around assault on Prospero, maybe you should make base more Prospero-authentic - IMHO it should look like some desert with white stone blocks, smth like Egyptians did, you know? Iron-Daemon Forge
Good to see the Space Wolves on the go DaemonPrinceDargor. Rememeber you need 1500pts ready for March, I'll make sure you will get them done in time :P On another note, I was suggested for Gold to use a light wash of the purple wash GW do. It work really well IMO & greatfull for the tips I pick up through out the UKGT. Your model great don't get me wrong & I can't wait. But though just suggest trying out the purple wash on gold (do it on a spare model just to make sure you like it) IP Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182956-the-razing-of-prospero/#findComment-2164803 Share on other sites

Prospero was an Ice World. And I will begrudgingly admit that is a good model, but I will stand strong against those who will assault Prospero! jlmb_123
That's brilliant. I had a feeling that the new Space Wolves tuff wouldn't work for a pre-Heresy army, as it's all a bit, y'know, pagan, but it actually enhances the look a hell of a lot. Any tips on the gold on the shoulder pad? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182956-the-razing-of-prospero/#findComment-2166055 Share on other sites
spikyjames
Great start mate, it'd be nice to see you get this done for march, we need to make sure we have a game on the friday or saturday night this time. Looking forward to seeing where this goes, any plans for what you're going to have in the army yet? Blindhamster
very very very nice! detailed, clean crisp and a great theme! I'll agree that you should probably go for the bases being more desert like with random bits of sandstone. Perhaps look at getting the steamknight head set from maximini also for some TS style helmets and some more old school style helms for the puppies themselves ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182956-the-razing-of-prospero/#findComment-2199581 Share on other sites
DaemonPrinceDargor
Just to show everyone that i'm not dead and the Wolf project is still on... ;) Wolf Lord Turin Turabar,7th Grand Company,Space Wolves Legion http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/4378/lord1z.jpg http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/889/lord2d.jpg http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/1514/lord3.jpg http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/8731/lord4n.jpg http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/4552/lord5.jpg http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/771/lord6t.jpg Named by my girlfriend, who by the way is the reason why i started space wolves... :) Now,since i heard something about a cask of ale... 1)Over a black undercoat i start with a couple of coats of Adeptus Battlegrey. 2)I shade the points where the armour meets with devlan mud and when that is dry,a very thin line of chaos black. 3)The first stage highlights is done with codex grey, second stage highlights with fortress grey and the fine highlights with a 50/50 fortress grey and skull white mix. And thats it for the armour, quick and easy. Cheers! Pulse
Great painted mini's love the pre-hersey scheme Turin Turabar is too sissy a name, Tolkien styled names have no place with a norse styled legion of doom . :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/182956-the-razing-of-prospero/#findComment-2201794 Share on other sites

Guest Herald of Desolation
Herald, blasphemy?BLASPHEMY YOU SAY???*sounds of chainaxe spinning up* :D Yeah. Blasphemy. The Thousand Sons were my favorite pre-heresy legion. I always thought their story to be tragic. Post-heresy, Slaanesh all the way baby.
