Want to build five canon wolf lords

Right I've decided I want to assemble five lords from my remains. I have Egil Ironwolf's successor so that's out of the question.

Things I have:

Two TDA bodies plus any wargear combo

Three PA bodies plus any wargear, have to have the heads with flat bases

So if you guys could suggest some Wolf Lords and what wargear you imagine them with then please let me know. I promise to post pictures once I have every Wolf Lord represented.

Cheers in advance!

You may consider keeping an eye on Teh Wolf Lord Challenge thread as it gets updated. Kewl idea, I'll one up it a bit. I'd one day like to cast/build/fabricate a "Warlords of the Fang" round table or great hall Floor Token as depicted in the back of the 3rd Ed Codex, forget where it is in the new dex, with every Lord standing on or abeam their stone. Picture it in a Great Hall with appropriate decor, within the Fang on Fenris. One day.............Just sayin'.

Your idea is certainly an interesting one, I was thinking of creating perhaps a bar fight scene between the wolf lords with their wolf guard watching, amused but I want to rock up and field twelve wolf lords in an apocalypse game for giggles.

And cheers for the thread

Modelling such a spillage of ale would pain me too much to endure. A brawl diorama would be an awesome project though.

I've personally always liked Bran Redmaw, so my vote goes for him. ;)

I think TDA is too clumsy in his case, so PA without a doubt. MoTW is a natural fit, but if you don't like doing that I think 2 x Wolf Claws would do an equally good job. Maybe use the Wolf Helm head from the Pack sprue and paint the helmet black, while leaving the snout red. This kind of conversion was in the White Dwarf that covers the Wolves' release. Now as for the Sagas, I think Hunter, Wolfkin or Warrior Born would fit him.

As for TDA, I certainly could see Bjorn Stormwolf wearing one. With a Thunder Hammer of course. Saga of the Bear to reflect his enormous size.

I like the Wolf Claw idea. All lords will finally be represented, this is just the stuff I have for now.

Bran Redmaw: I see him with PA and twin Wolf Claw

Harald Deathwolf: PA riding on a giant wolf

Bjorn Stormwolf: TDA maybe with Thunderhammer and Stormshield or a Combi Weapon with Wolf Claw

Sven Bloodhowl: PA Thunderhammer (the hammer is mentioned in the entry about the Wolf Lord)

Krom Dragongaze: TDA and twin Wolf Claws

Double post but for a very good reason. I've been reading Bjorn Stormwolf's fluff anf he takes to the field in TDA and likes loud things so I was wondering what you guys thought of me modelling him with an assault cannon? I would count it as a storm bolter or something but I just see it as something that would appeal to him, so would a thunder hammer but I'm thinking it might be interesting.

Of course I could create a datasheet for him being equipped with an assault cannon, add 20 or so points onto the assault cannon to represent his higher BS compared to a WG

You wouldn't need to add the extra points on because the idea that some weapons have more potential in one wolf hands than anothers has been disowned by games workshop, which is kinda silly, a GH wouldn't be as good with a powerfist as a wolf lord (1 attack < 4 attacks) but it doesn't seem to register with GW.

If you were bothered by it I would make the upgrade 35/40 rather than 50 points. if you break it down you get roughly:

2 or 3 hits with BS 4 (more likely 3 hits)

3 or 4 hits with BS 5 (more likely 4 hits)

one or two extra hits isn't worth 2/3rds of the weapons original cost, so 50 points is far too much. 35/40 is much more reasonable.

Righty-ho. Just didn't want to break something, then again its an assault cannon in apocalypse, now if only it was easy for a left handed thunderhammer that wouldn't break in my case.
