Any word on when other Legions will get books?

The Raven Guard and World Eaters will feature in the upcoming Raven's Flight (although thats an audio book, due out next year)

The next two big releases are A Thousand Sons (McNeil) and Prospero Burns (Abnett).

James Swallow has said he wants to work on a book about the Blood Angels at Signus Prime (owners of Collected Visions will be familiar with this story), although he has to complete work on Nemesis (another HH novel, but about duelling assassins on either side of the heresy and not a specific legion) which is due for release next November!

I'm sure a couple of others will spring up to fill in the gaps, that usually happens!

From something on Anthony Reynolds blog, I believe Nick Kyme will be writing on Word Bearers but this could be Aaron Dembski Bowden instead as his HH novel will called The First Heretic , unless (controvesy) that refers to the Emperor.
I would imagine there would be an Ultramarines boook at some point..

It was called Battle for the Abyss. :D

If i was an Ultramarine, i wouldnt want to claim that book either...

It would seem there is something the Word Bearers and Ultramarines can agree on: Battle for the Abyss sucked :)

musssst have a Night Lords novellll (and NOT an audiobook!)
The closest we will get (at this time) is Soul Hunter, in 2010. It's not a HH book but it does refer to some of the Legion's actions during the heresy.

Good news on the Night Lords, I think they have alot of potential background to cover in the HH.

Of course I'm waiting for my Iron Warriors, though something tells me that the book will focus on the events of Olympia, which while cool, seems predictable.

Legoburner:

It was hinted that a massive ultramarines arc is planned for the HH series written by multiple authors. I think they hinted at 3 books but my memory got fuzzy on the drive home through endless traffic jams.

Thousand sons and Prospero Burns are written to be extremely integrated and many elements of the books go back and forth between the two, linking them extremely closely. From Graham's description it sounds like each one will need to be read twice to get the most out of them which sounds good value considering we have to wait for so long for them!

The Horus Heresy panel also hinted at a MASSIVE twist that will "blow everyone's minds". However they could not comment on it further but were visibly brimming with excitement, stating loads of ideas have been going around, and said it will turn the whole 40k universe around a bit. Begin Internet conjecture....

Finally, when asked their personal opinion if GW will ever release any Warhammer 30k stuff, the general opinion was no as the design studio is very focused on 40k, lotr and WHFB. It was suggested that it would not be too hard for them to do such a thing, but that is was not very likely and even a simple apocalypse add on for it would probably be asking too much (again all this was just opinion as Black Library is a separate entity).

Cheers for that Yogi, very interesting!

Calth makes a logical choice for a big series of books - it will no doubt please the legion of Ultramarine fans who thus far feel short-changed!

I'm not surprised that there are no 30k miniatures releases planned, that '30k sprue' has been kicking around for years now and still hasn't surfaced, which I'm sure it would have if there was a sequence of releases planned.

Ooh ok, massive twist?

Horus gets corroborating intel that he can only save humanity by destroying it, and the Emperor is actually a baddy :P

Pacific81: Dude at first I did not enjoy the book but having read it again since, I like it. Well... read it again because Skraal was such an awesome character!!!!!!

I know this will come across as mega daft but audio books, I assume that means on CD and not to be released in book format? I know it sounds a stoopid question but I am not really a huge fan of audio books and the RG happen to be my fav chapter next to the IF.

My local GW said the next book should be out by the end of the month but as always, someone always gets a copy sooner rather than later. Anyone got a copy yet? Am sooooo looking forward to reading the next two HH books!

I really hope they keep James Swallow away from a Blood Angels HH novel, in fact, keep him away from any Blood Angels novels.

i agree, i did like his 'deus' characters, how can you not lilke rafen... but his plot was crapola. across both books.

Concerning IW in the HH, I asked Graham McNeill quite recently about whether there was an IW novel being planned and sadly he said nothing had reached his ears <_<

Further questions I prodded him with revealed that if there was ever going to be one for an our legion then he would be putting his hand up to write it (I would enjoy it thoroughly due to his Storm of Iron novel  )

Also, as a personal thing im hoping that if they do do an IW novel within the HH they dont just centre it on the events of Olympia with a little extra each way.

Although the events on Olympia are central to why the legion followed Horus, so its a pretty important moment in their history. I'd like to see the poor treatment of the Legion in having to carry out terrible seige and garrison duties, and Perturabo not getting the credit he deserves - so, finally a reason for a Legion to turn traitor other than A wizard did it, which we have had so far.

I really enjoyed Flight of the Eisenstein, so maybe if James Swallow had another go at a Blood Angels book he would make a really good job of it.

BL have hinted that all the audio books may be released in proper book format as an anthology of short stories a bit like Tales of Heresy - but we'll obviously have to wait until there's enough of them to make up a whole book, probably means about 7 or 8 stories.
