Fallen questions

Heya guys, some questions about the fallen. And seeing as they are seen as traitors generally i figured it should go here (apologies in advance if wrong)

Ok my renegade force background is basically a fallen encounters one of the sargeants from my at the time loyal chapter. He spreads some seeds of lies and saying "why do you serve a corpse that gives you no reward for fighting and dying in his name? When you could have whatever you wanted if you served my masters." This then leads to him starting to question what he is doing and what will become of him if he does change allegiance.

My main question is, is this plausible?

Would a fallen generally go around and spread hate and mistrust, deciet towards the Emperor?

If not then I'm gonna have to rethink my ideas a lot..

The idea would they would be aspiring champions for the squads of marines and maybe some chosen as them. Using the fantastic plastic sprues GW made.

Help in this matter would be greatfully appreciated.

Thanks

Hetacondries.

Well, not with that line. ;) He owuld get a bolt round to the head for such a weak effort.

Generally the Fallen are not one homogenous group. they are scattered throughout space and time, and while some have more and more embraced chaos, others have come to regret what they realized they have done. Those that worship chaos will not be much different from other traitors, so it will probably not be their goal to convert other loyalists, though if the opportunity arises he might give it a try. It depends on the attitude of the traitor. He might be full of hate and simply wants to kill all loyalists. Or he might be more spiteful and relish in turning other loyalists more than in killing them. But it would probably not as simple as just trying to convince them that they get nothing out of their service for the emperor. Space Marines do not expect praise or reward, their motivation is much more faith based, and they would expect traitors to lie and deceive.

A member of the fallen might well give it a go as they are so diverse however It would be hard and I would see it likely to happen two ways.

1) Space marine is already partly corrupt or lacking in faith and the Fallen just breaks the camels back so to speak...

or

2) The fallen speaks some words probably just before he dies maybe they stay in the loyalists mind... then again maybe not but at some point an event occurs that either brings back the memories or reinforces them pushing the loyalist into changing his spots.
