Chaos Biker Squad and lord on bike

Recommended Posts

I'm doing this Spacewolf renegade army, and I am putting a bike squad and terminators in the army. I think it fits the army. My problem is what mark would work good in a 10 man biker squad and I guess it goes with the termi squad too.

This army I'm planning on working up for a GT so I want competitive play. I was thinking of slannesh, korn or nurgle.

I want to have 2 lords in the army one on bike and one with the termi's both with demon weapons. (can you have two lords?)

For troops having 15 CSM in a unit with the same mark. (15 to sit on a objective) I'm thinking of 2-3 units if I have the points. Let me know what you think?

The majority of the turns the bikes will spend should be in melee combat. Takes just two turns to get there in most cases. The most used statistic to remove your models is strength. While weaponskill lets models hit you on 4's at the worst, strength is the biggest one to kill your models.

If you run 8 models or more in the bike unit, I would roll nurgle. Spending 2 turns in melee with a strength 4 model unit would yield 1/6th fewer deaths. Be weary of specialists and you should be fine. Most str3 are either specialists, or easy prey so the icon won't go wasted for the most part.

Slaanesh is best if you plan on out-running your prey and being able to hit ahead of I4's. Though, in tournies you will face units that want to run, units that wont run and often have initiative different from 4 when they counter charge you with something else thats nastier.

Khorne is perhaps best for all rounded ability, chaos bikes are meant for melee after all.

Glory is the safest.

Tzeentch icon is not so loved these days.

I rather go with nurgle raptors then regular chaos bikes any day. T5 and 2 turn charge is still there except your paying a decent cost for them points-wise. I enjoyed my chaos bike times, being a prick and covering disembarking hatches then killing the transport leaving no space to escape. But that got old, and spendy when it didn't work. Raptors are normally a superior choice by default, using 20 per unit being a good backbone in the long run.

Terminator unit I would say nurgle would be nice, but khorne is better for them. Its not just +1 attack to them, its +1 power weapon or power fist attack on top of being championed. (5 attacks a model charging) But nurgle works wonders here too if you really want it. Slaanesh is also nice.
