Dangerous Terrain rolls

Do you roll for a dangerous Terrain test just once in a round? Or every time the unit moves through it?

For example, Imagine an uber CC unit of Doom about to Assault some Space Wolves with a Rune Priest. The RP uses Murderous Hurricane on them, knowing full well they'll be assaulted next turn.

The enemy, then moves 6" and takes a Dangerous Terain test.

When they Assault to get into CC, do they take another? And assuming they lose the CC, and fail the moral test (and win the Sweeping Advance roll) and have to fall back, do they take a third Dangerous Terrain test?

In the BRB, pg 14 under Dangerous Terrain, “Roll a D6 for every model that has entered, left or moved through one or more areas of dangerous terra in during its move.” This indicates that only one dangerous Terrain test is taken during the movement phase.

On pg 16, under the Run rule it states that, “models running through dangerous terrain must test as normal.” Indicating that during a Run move in the shooting phase, a dangerous terrain test is also required.

On pg 34 under, Moving Assaulting Models it says, “Move the model into contact with the nearest enemy model in the unit being assaulted, using the shortest possible route. Roll for difficult or dangerous terrain if necessary, and if the model is killed by a dangerous terrain test, start the assault again with the next closest model.”

Whereas, Pile-in & Consolodation moves do not trigger dangerous terrain tests, pg 40 they are taken if the unit Falls Back, pg. 45 or Regroups, pg 46.

In Codex: SW, pg. 37, Murderous Hurricane states that, “Place a marker next to the affected unit – next turn that unit treats all terrain, even clear terrain, as both difficult and dangerous.”

So the affected unit would test once and only once if it moved in the Movement phase, again in the shooting phase if it Ran, it would test again as it moved in the assault phase (if it were Fleet in this case) and if it was forced to Fall Back, it would test again. So, potentially up to a max of 4 times throughout a given player turn.

That’s the way it reads to me. -OMG
