pryor
If I have a Dreadnought (doesn't matter which type) in a Drop Pod when it lands and I choose to leave the Dread in the Pod what happens if the pod blows up? Does the pod act as ablative armour without affecting the dread or do you roll armour penetration on the rear armour using the strength 4 against embarked passengers? Does the dread disembark from the destroyed pod like infantry? I'm just thinking that this might be more useful than popping straight out screaming "target me!" Marshal Wilhelm
C:UM pg 69. "Once the DP has landed, the hatches are blown and all passengers MUST immediately disembark, as normal. Once passengers have disembarked, NO MODELS can embark on the DP for the rest of the game." Once it lands, he deploys and that is it. "Immobile: A DP cannot move once it has entered the battle field, and counts in all respects as a vehicle that has suffered an Immobilised damage result...." So you can deploy with it in between the Dread and the enemy if you so wish, but remember you have to walk around it in future. It will provide cover for both you and your enemy. Drop and SMOKE might help. It is advisable to DP in multiple units to overwhelm foe with targets. Another is timing it with when the LRC & Terms/Assault squads/Bike Squadron impacts enemy....
