krewl
Hello Wolf players, Hopping over from the DA & Inquisition forum where I spend most of my time, but now the new great wolf has tempted me to think about a wolf rule deathwing. However, I run into a problem I have notyet found a solution for. As in the " leaders of the pack" description you are not allowed to take to HQ's with the same saga in an army. And as both Logan Grimnar and Njal Stormcaller have the saga of majesty they could not be in a list together. Is there a spot I missed allowing special/named characters an exclusion from this rule? Same goes for the psychic powers, no 2 rune priests may have the same power. I take it reading the rule that also means no same powers, not just power combinations. Again, Njal has all powers, so should he also not allow any other runepriest in the army. I hope I missed something as I was planning on 2 characters based on these 2 in a deathwing(y) list. Mantinel
The rule doesn't include special characters, just custom made. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/183185-ruleswise-njal-hates-logan/#findComment-2166788 Share on other sites
Hfran Morkai
The rule doesn't include special characters, just custom made. Which makes life easier. Also by my reckoning that's around 500 points of nastiness. How big's this force going to top out at because in an Apocalypse sized force I see no reason for sagas not to be repeated, so long as you've done a good job of representing them all Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/183185-ruleswise-njal-hates-logan/#findComment-2166796 Share on other sites

Wether this means that you can have the same two psychic powers so long as you've got different wargear and sagas or the two powers taken just cannot be the same is still unanswered. However Njal has all of the psychic powers so no need to worry on that fron as no-one else can have that combination. ~O Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/183185-ruleswise-njal-hates-logan/#findComment-2166807 Share on other sites
krewl
Yes, but if it is only in the combination a list with 4 (!) runepriests with all Jaws of the World Wolf and a 2nd different power would be allowed. That would be just to broken to allow. 4 Psychers, all on bikes for great lineups and then nuking all coming in with several hit models with each line. Hardly any list would have a chance at anything like a propper game (Except eldar making you fail your own psychic tests..) I stand on the interpretation that no 2 priests may have any power in common. It is a good combo, but remember you're paying 400 points to cast Jaws on your opponent. Oldenhaller
it's really not that broken - rellying on a number of factors as it does. krewl
Thanks for the link, it also pointed me to the page where they say the named characters are exempt from the rule of the same saga's. I'll leave it at that then, and please lets not start an old discussion up again here :). Warhorse47
It has nothing to do with the saga, it has to do with the wager over that keg of ale......... WolfLordLars
I dont see an issue with RP's having the same powers, as long as they have differnt wargear. One in terminator armor and the other in Runic armor, for example. Spacefrisian
Peeps should learn to read the rules better just 1 different item each on 2 Runepriests makes them legal (eg 1 having a Meltabomb the other not).
