Additions to my Chaos marine collection…..

Very nice Alpha Legionnaires; crisp paint job and nice conversions too. Looking forward to seeing more. ;)

Any plans for the whole force, or is it 'mix and match' as you feel like it? Will it be 1500 points to stand alone, or work in concert with your Death Guard?

Thanks for the comments.

Yeah it is going to be a mix'n match force as I get bored doing the same colour scheme all the time. Saying that I am planning on having a lot more Alpha's for the future. I basically want some Termie's (including a Sorceror), a Predator, Havocs and some Raptors painted up as Alpha Legionnaire's...

I want these to work with a couple of squads of Plague's, 1 squad of Berzerkers, a Daemon Prince (as of yet I'm undecided what colour scheme he's gonna have) and what I have already posted on this thread. I should have my 1st Alpha squad finished within the next week, just base coating the champion today...so will post soon...

Hello all, seen as I have been busy slapping some paint on 1 of my Alpha Legionnaire’s over the weekend I thought I’d share my progress… I decided it was about time that the Alpha’s benefited from the leadership of their Champion (& seen as I assembled him a month ago his paint job is long overdue!) So here he is -

He (much like the rest of the squad) still needs some static grass on his base but I’m waiting until after I varnish him.

Which leads me to the QUESTION, – “Can someone tell me a good spray on matt varnish that I could use?” As previously I’ve only used Purity Seal on my Death Guard, and whilst the Satin finish worked on them I don’t think it will on my current project. So I need a Matt Varnish to make the paint work more durable.

Also to make this post extra long, I have been working on my FW World Eaters. Here’s a peak at the how I have posed a couple (minus the shoulder pads & green stuff)…

I have almost finished the one on the right.

This is the 1st time I have had a real good go at red so C & C will definitely be appreciated for this son of Angron.

that looks perfect!

I like the depth that the red has and the little details like the belt symbol and eyes.

How did you do your blood spatter? it's fantastic.

Yeah I tried playing with washes to get some depth but it just didn't work, so I blended from a base of 3:1 Mechrite red : Chaos black up to red gore, and then from there up to blood red highlights. Am glad you liked it.

As for the blood spatter, I used Tamiya clear red. Try this tutorial

Stratokahn posted it in the librarium and I've found it extremely useful.

Good poses on the WE as well, nice red :P The Forge World berzerkers are mint, but they come with chainswords don't they the cheeky :P, meaning you have to get the axes separate!!

Love the champion as too, sword and shield turned out really well
