What is the safest way to teleport?

So I have never used deep strike because the deep strike table seems like it will really be screw up my terminators. However the Idea of my Lysander and a unit of 10Terminators Suddenly appearing on the flank, or behind an enemy force has been occupying my mind lately, and I wanted to know the best way to ensure that your deepstrike unit gets onto the table safely.

Landing 600 pts behind the enemy force sounds nice, but isn't that easy to do. First, your enemy is probably going to plan for that and leave you little room between their flanks and their table edge. Second, the rules are designed so that kind of thing isn't easy, hence losing the entire squad if they land off the board.

That being said, scout bikers with teleport homers are a good call. They can be placed 18" from the enemy during deployment, then turbo boost to where they need to be. Of course, if your reserve rolls don't work out then your bikers are likely to get killed before you can teleport in Lysander and crew to help them. That's why, if I'm doing such a thing, I have a drop pod with support come down on turn 1 to keep them alive. Or, even better, put a locator beacon on that DP for some redundancy for the teleporting termies.

Alternately you can just drop your termies in front of the opponent's line and hope you roll well on the scatter.

Personally, it is a risk to deep strike, but taking risks is a necessary part of 40k.

The safest way to do it is, as said, by homers/bacons. If all of them get "nullified", either by casualties, Land Speeder Storm/Inquisitorial Mystics, or impractical locations, you can combat squad them pre-game to reduce the size of the unit, and therefore the room that must be open for them.

Be happy we are not in 4th edition, where there was no Mishap table. Bad scatters into enemys, impassable terrain, or off table were 100% lethal.

Daemon Prince Joe: Now, soon my evil plans will be complete! Nothing can stop me now! I'm surrounded by 1473 trenches filled with Traitor Guardsmen! Not even a Titan could reach my position! And, I've placed teleport jammers all over the area! No Space Marines to worry me now! Muahahahaha!

Traitorous Brother Bob: Look! Space Marines!

Daemon Prince Joe: WHAT?????

Traitorous Brother Bob: Yeah, they're coming by Drop Pod!

Daemon Prince Joe: But... how? HOW are they not inside a rock, or 1700 feet underground, or something? HOW???

Traitorous Brother Nick: *walks up* Hey guys, want some bacon?

Traitorous Brother Bob (to Daemon Prince Joe): *takes bacon* I hear Space Marines have a pretty good sense of smell.

Traitorous Brother Nick: Yeah! "Come to Chaos. We have bacon."

Daemon Prince Joe: *facepalm*

Oops.

At least it will work well against Space Wolves (here doggy doggy...fetch!) ;)

I must be having bad luck or something but that nearly had irn-bru (type of fizzy drink) go right up my nose you kellogs hunter. I bearly got the old trousers clean of chocolate milkshake residue, i don't want to have to clean bright orange fizzy drink off my trousers nor my pure white top.

On the matter of safe teleportation: don't do it! Ok thats not helpful but it's the only thing not stated here but I would agree, 600 points of 40k chuck norris with mini-40k chuck norris' sounds fun!
