Living Lightning v. JotWW

Jaws: First I pass my psychic test, then I fight through a psychic hood, then my opponent makes an iniative test.... and most of the worthwhile targets have high I Ive found. Ill bring it against orks, necrons.. and nidzilla.

Living Lightning- I use it to pop tanks and kill Lootas- its great for those low AV skimmers that seem to want to run around the table edge.

i say it depends on what your gonna play against. if its an army with low IN the go jaws. great for picking those pesky nobz with power clawz out of units lol. against marines jaws is still good but lighting is nice for popping rhinos and making marines take armor saves.
How about for an all comers list?

For an all comers list?

Tempests Wrath or Stormcaller, and Living Lightning or Murderous Hurricane.

If footslogging or riding in a rhino I prefer stormcaller with living lightning to protect my mounted units.

Footslogginger- Tempests Wrath, stay in cover and watch them try to get you... itll be funny.

Of course, Biking Tempests Wrath to bring the storm to your foes.... and Murderious Hurricane to act as a pseudo-death flamer.

All comers I like the look of Tempest's Wrath and Living Lightning.

Helping my friend update his wolves from old codex to new has given me a ton of insight on how to beat the battlewagon until I can meet a good old-school wolf player on the field of battle. I like the challenge presented by new wolves.

I prefer Living Lightning myself.

WHile Jaws is awesome on paper, is rarely seems to work for me. The Lightning is good against any opponent, especially if you join the RP to a 6 strong pack of LF with HB. the dakka they can lay down is awesome.

WLK

i have so far had very good luck with both powers. so far jaws has racked up 2 lysanders, 1 shrike, and a dante as well as a smattering of other things. while lightning has blasted a hammer head to pieces and killed lots of battle suits and other random things lol. think it just comes down to what you like, just play a few games with both and just see what ya like ^_^

Only used JotWW so far and in it's game against nids it took;

- turn one winged hive tyrant

- turn two a Zoanthrope and a 'nid Warrior

- turn three a bunch of gaunts ( the second zoat survived annoyingly ;) )

we didn't go to turn 4. a powerful ally the World Wolf is mmmm[/yoda]

~O

I have cast JOWW 5 times this is what i have killed:

2 Fexes- 1 shot

C-tan, 2 necron warriors- 1 shot (FIRST TURN :) )

Keeper of Secrets-1 shot

Fex- 1 shot

Chaos Lord, and Sorcerer IN ONE SHOT :P

So i like JOWW B) i have killed somthing every time ;)

So we have to write the psychic powers into our lists? We're not allowed to simply choose which we want just before the game begins?

I only ask as I need to know if I should write them into my list. I know the two I'm going to use anyway, just want to know if there's anything preventing us swapping powers to lists.

(I only ever played wolves with a single power, so no choice for us)

Well it says in the dex that the powers are chosen when the "army is picked" s not before the battle starts. So i'd say that you're stuck with what you've got once you've written your list. I'm guessing that would be the tournament rule on it i'm not sure, different powers= different rune priest= different list something like that. Personally against me i'd let you pick before everygame.

In friendly games you could agree with your buddies to choose the powers before each game, but in a tournament you'd have to choose 2 and stick with them for the whole tourny.

Back on topic I have 3 Rune Priests in my 1750 list and they all have Living Lightning and another power.

LL is very accurate (hits on 2+ with the chooser) and the range is unlimited, great for reaching those backfield artillery pieces IG players inevitably field, as well as Prisms, Hammerheads...

My secondary powers are usually Storm Caller (great for protecting the Rhinos from which my RP fire), Tempest's Wrath (for screwing Eldar) and JoWW (has not worked very well for me so far, but here for the pure scare factor).

Cheers for the clarification guys. I'll type them into my list. Was just tryin to stop my list spreading onto two pages without reducing font size and changing the format.

Tempest's Wrath and Living Lightning for me, two favourite choices since Stormcaller got kind of nerfed. But everything has frgs these days anyway...
