The Swords of Dorn usually recruit from the nobility of Parth, taking the sons of knights or nobles who perform particularly well in battle against the feral orks or in the mock tournaments so often held. Occasionally they will also take a peasant who has performed admirably in battle alongside his plate armor clad brethren. One of these was Michael of Dorcer, a cobbler's apprentice who heeded the call to take up arms when a large ork warband approached the small town. As usual one of the Chapter's Librarians watched the conflict, waiting to see if there were any worthy recruits among the humans before calling in a squad of his brothers to eliminate the xenos. This particular Librarian, named Macross, witnessed an epic duel, Dorcer's lord fighting a massive feral warboss in single combat. The human fought valiantly but fell to the alien's superior strength. Out of the swirling melee darted a small figure with a foresters axe, slamming the blade into the greenskin's knee. The warboss roared in irritation and swung at the boy, but he dodged and struck another blow into the xeno's neck. The ork died in a fountain of black blood while its nob guard fell upon the young human, intent on hacking him limb from limb. But Macross intervened. Barking a command into his vox, the librarian strode forward, lancing blasts of psychic lightning into the ork mob. Squad Aurelian fell upon the aliens from their roost in the nearby forest while Macross searched for his new recruit in a pile of nob bodies. The boy lived, but barely. Macross took him to the Chapter's fortress on the moon Securis where the young peasent was healed and transformed into a mighty astartes. Often teased by his peers as a peasant the young marine decided to flaunt his lower start in life, asking that Cobbler be fixed permanently as his surname in chapter records. This quickly hushed any scoffers. Michael went on to become a proud astartes and expert duelist, winning the Chapter's yearly tournament to commemorate the Emperor's Ascension no less than sixty times. After the Traxos 4 campaign in 923M41 when the Chapter was decimated by a tyranid splinter fleet Michael was elected as the new Grand Marshall. He has continued prosecuting the enemies of man with unsurpassed vigor since that day.

Wargear: Artificier armor, plasma pistol, frags, kraks, Sword of Champions- Said to have been made as a gift for Primarch Rogal Dorn by his brother Ferrus Manus this blade glows with a strange aura that blows and bullets seem to find solid. The Sword of Champions is a relic blade that gives the wielder a 3+ Invulnerable save.

Special Rules:And They Shall Know No Fear, Into the Maelstrom!, Duelist- If he is in close combat with an enemy character Michael must alocate all his attacks to that model.

Retinue: May select a Honor Company squad as a retinue.

Okay, I'd taken a break from this for a little while but I'm back at it! Please advise I have no idea what to make this guy cost in points. What I have up is just a guess.

 

Jon Alder was recruited from the noble family of the realm of Caurus on Parth after winning a local tourney. The recruiting Librarian reported a feeling of extreme unease around the boy but it was not investigated. It wasn’t until his first trip through the warp that the presence of the pariah gene was discovered in the boy. During his trip a librarian candidate in his squad became possessed by a daemon. The creature caused much destruction before Jon approached it and banished it with his combat blade. Alder was immediately transferred to the Reclusiam to be trained as a chaplain. Since then the warrior has been shuttled from warzone to warzone, the demand for his ability meaning he has not been afforded the even the little rest enjoyed by other astartes. Where ever the spore of the psyker or the daemon is found Jon Alder is not far away.

Wargear: bolt pistol, frags, kraks, power armor, rosarius, Cantebury Cross- crafted as a gift for Alder after he rid a forge world of rogue psykers this crozius whirs and glows with strange technology. This is a power weapon that causes instant death.

Special Rules: ATSKNF, Into the Maelstrom!, Independent Character (unique), Litanies of Hate, Honor of the Chapter, Psyker Bane- Over time Alder has learned to project the effect of the pariah gene in an area around him. No psyker powers may be used by or on any model within 12" of Alder, nor may any daemons deepstrike into this area.

Options: May take a jump pack for 25 pts.
