Radixon Posted October 29, 2009 Share Posted October 29, 2009 for his left arm use the arm that holds the missile launcher from the sm or devastator sprue then make a ball of green stuff and stick it to his palm. paint it with a shimmering blue paint sceme. for his weapon. take the wolf thunder hammer, chop off the hammer part, then stick the top of a frost axe on it and voila, runic weapon. for extra effect, paint night lords style lightning on the arm holding the orb. hope this helps. dublindawg Posted October 29, 2009 Share Posted October 29, 2009 My thoughts would be to have the left arm would stretched out reaching for the sky, with a staff or other simular item in the left hand held mid-shaft and have it run parallel with the ground. The right arm would be pointed backwards towards the ground, maybe with a pistol or some CC type of weapon. Growler67 Posted October 29, 2009 Share Posted October 29, 2009 For the lightning/electrical arcing you envision, you could consider getting an Emperor Palpatine Star Wars figure with the arcs eminating from his hands and cutting them off to place on your conversion, or using the same as inspiration to model it how you see fit (GS, slivers of sprue or whatever). Not sure what is in your bits box but there are awlays possibilities for starters or parts in there, like old banner poles (with or without arms), standard poles that you can add some wolfy icons to, borrowing/modifying some of the unused weapons (thunder hammers) as mentioned and so on. Kenmichi Posted October 30, 2009 Share Posted October 30, 2009 Use wire coming from the ball of putty on his hand. It'll be stronger and epoxy based putty, like green stuff, seems to stick to it better than most others. And what you could do here is take one strand of wire, then coil a second around it and branch that coil off in a different direction to symbolize the arcing lightning. Do that on 5 main bolts and you have 10+ lightning arcs. Unfortunately using that route you'll probably use a lot of green stuff so look into some alternative putties. And you'll definitely want to counter-weight his base if you use wire and putty. Even using an aluminum wire with a not very dense putty (GS is very light but milliput is kinda dense) you'll throw off the center of balance. I find that pennies are very good for counter balancing weight, but lead weights and fishing lures work just as well if you can find them in an appropriate size and shape. If it's just one, it looks kind of focused, as if the rune priest is holding something in his palm, and power is coming from the orb, and not him. AcidBurn Posted November 2, 2009 Author Share Posted November 2, 2009 Ok as i am waiting for the bits to arrive in the post and they might take a while because of the postal strike. so ive decided to wright some fluff (im rather getting into this fluff business) this is the story of Rune Priest Mugen Thunderbrow. Mugen Thunderbrow was not inducted into the order of the rune priests until the middle of his service among the sons of Russ when he was all but a gray hunter. Somehow his power was undetected by the by the rune priests screening process as if it was lying dormant waiting to surface at the right time to show itself. His power chose to unveil itself during a great battle against the ruinous powers of the Thousand Sons which were lead by a chaos sorcerer of terrible, terrible power who was named "Styx The Deciver". The battle had raged for months with no sign of either side giving up there was the entire great company of the Steel Sangs, supported by the imperial guard planetary defence force against a leigion of thousand sons and demonic scum. it was during a high point in the battle that the master rune priest Elric Running Wolf faced off against "The Deciver" their mighty blows rang out through the battle field like 2 titans of old, neither warrior yeilding to each other. however there was demon tirckery afoot and the sorcerer somehow managed to distract the rune priest for a split second and gain the upper hand, smashing the ancient warrior to the ground. standing over the fallen priest ready to deal the final blow he laughed, the laugh echoed throughout the entire battle field and was heard by marine and demon alike. it was at this time that a Young Mugen Thunderbrow had witnessed the titanic duel and had seen the rune priest fall and before The Deciver could deal the final blow he leapt between the two warriors and blocked and held the sorcerers demon blade with his crackeling power axe. The two power armoured behemoths stood blades locked together. "Give up young pup, you have no hope of defeating me and saving your priest" the Deciver mocked. "as long as my hearts still beat and my strength does not waver you shall not take him! , you shall not take him!" Mugen yelled. "Mwahahahahaha, what hope does a lowely pup like you have against me Styx The Deciver" "you will not slay me fiend" Mugen replied "oh i beg to differ" the deciver mocked "you shall die, you will wash away like the rain that falls insolent pup!" and with that the sorcerer struck down his opponent with a blast of chaos power and Mugen slipped into the red dream. darkness took him and his mind wandered through space and time, there was nothing, nothing but emptyness and blackness, for what seemed like an eternity passed and still nothing, and then... ... ... something stirred deep within him, something that had lay dorment waiting to be released. The spirit.. .. .. .. of the lightning wolf. It called to him urging him to return to the land of the living, it promised him revenge, justice and the power do defeat his enemy the, power to defeat The Great Deciver. he woke in a cold sweat in chambers of the rune priests on the Steel Fangs Battle Barge. he was encircled by the priests chanting arcane words that he did not understand and then the chanting stopped. "We did not foresee this" one of the priests said "indeed" another said "how could we have missed such a powerful conduit of the lightning wolf" "great power i see within him now, will he be able to master it? another priest said "he will have to, lest it be his undoing" the first priest said "it matters not now, what matters is he recives the proper training, if he is to control the powers that lie within him and not let them control him" the eldest of the priests said many years passed and Mugen spent every waking day training and studying the ancient texts of the rune priests until finally he was ready, ready to go into battle, not as a gray hunter but as a Rune Priest of the Steel Fangs. many more years passed, and Mugens power grew, he had many victories under his belt, and he once again came into conflict with the Thousand Sons, this time on a demon world where they had the advantage. he stalked the battlefield, smiting demons left and right and felling traitor marines as they came. Then he heard it, a mocking laughter that echoed round the entire planet. "mwahahahahaha, it seems i was careless. i should have been more thorough and killed you the old fashioned way, you insolent pup... ... ... ... ohhhh wait somethings different youve changed havent you? you have power, power enough to challenge me this time perhaps... ... ... this shall be fun" with that the great deciver materialized no more than a couple of yards away from Mugen. they stood steely gazes fixing upon each other, the decivers eyes glowing red and Mugens arching with white lightning. "you should have never have come back from, the gates of death pup. you shall wash away like the rain again." "i will show you styx!" mugen bellowed rage building within him "i have changed, i am the embodyment of the lightning wolf made manifest, i am justice, i am vengence, i shall right your wrongs .. .. .. .. I AM LIGHTNING THE RAIN TRANSFORMED!" and with that he howled, long and loud, a lightning bolt flew from the sky striking Mugen, drawing power from it he began to chant, invoking the power of the lightning wolf. Raw power surrounded him arching off his armour and into the ground the force causing rocks and battlefield debris to rise up and disintegrate all around him. Seeing this display of sheer power The Decivers blood ran cold and he at last knew the number of his days. Mugen flew at the sorcerer so fast that he appeared to be a blur, the sorcerer barely managed to guard. As they clashed the sheer power they both released was enough to cause a huge crater to form around them. They stood weapons locked eyes fixed on each other the two warriors stood toe to toe but it was clear who had the advantage this time. with a bellow of bestial rage Mugen twisted his rune staff in such a way that it shattered the Decivers demon weapon. Now exposed and vunerable the sorcerer attempted to use his powers to block Mugens next strike but the priest was all too powerfull and brought his rune staff down on the Decivers horned helm. the sorcerer now defenceless lay on the ground pleading for his life to the chaos gods, Mugen stood over him and raised his staff aloft high above his head and with a bellow of victorious rage brought it down on the sorcerer with enough force that it pierced his armour, and at the exact same time a lightning bolt charged from the sky and down Mugens staff dealing the final blow to the Great Deciver. ok what do you think apart from the really bad grammer and a few spelling mistakes?
