blackbabyjesus
Took me a while to complete this badboy, but it's finally done and I'm very pleased with the result, the motto "Facta non Verba" is Latin for "Deeds not Words" which I think rather fits with the Black Templar ethos. Any and all C&C is appreciated, as any lessons to be learned from this one will be applied to the Rhino I have to do next. Pictures! These last two interior shots are from the WIP phase, but the interior was 100% complete at this point, so I cba taking more photos. pingo
How did you do the little rusty/grimey streaks on the last picture inside the door? A wash I'm guessing? I like that. The whole thing is really nice. The only points I would suggest is to strengthen the highlights on the back and perhaps tone down the white, as nice and smoothly painted as it is, as it looks very bright. That might just be the photos though. Also dirty the tracks and the armour near the tracks. I applaud you for painting the inside so well. I didn't have the patience to do so well for my LR. blackbabyjesus
yeah the streaks on the door are badab black/devlan mud painted on after being left to dry for a little while. Hedwerx
This is very nice the painting has such clean, sharp edges to it. I'd agree on weathering though, with the sharp painting underneath some well thought out dirtying up would add an extra level to this model. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/183458-black-templar-land-raider-facta-non-verba/#findComment-2169973 Share on other sites
endless
You've got tidiness and a good basecoat, I would suggest that rather than worrying about "effects" you should concentrate on deepening your shadows. Play with the washes, try glazing, with such a good start you can take it places. Zaxter
I didn't know Black Templars were so good at cleaning, naming and painting vehicles. Good job. T.J. Gunnell
"Deeds not words" I believe. Its the motto of my school... ;) Very clean colors. I like it. blackbabyjesus
Erm yes T.J. Gunnell that's correct, though if you'd read the words instead of looking at the pretty pictures you'd notice that I'd said that much in my first paragraph! Mortifis
Took me a while to complete this badboy, but it's finally done and I'm very pleased with the result, the motto "Facta non Verba" is Latin for "Deeds not Words" which I think rather fits with the Black Templar ethos. I admit I've never studied Latin, but I was under the impression it was "Acta (Actions), Non Verba (Not Speech)"... where does the "f" for "Facta" come into it? blackbabyjesus
I also am no student of Latin, google is my friend when it comes to mottoes/names for vehicles. Facta non Verba seems to be fairly prevalent , however Acta non Verba also does. I'm not sure which is correct though Facta non Verba has enough letters to make it symmetrical on the scroll, so I'll stick with that! Hedwerx
Facta implies a work, or end result of a labour. While Acta refers to any action. Either works. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/183458-black-templar-land-raider-facta-non-verba/#findComment-2171411 Share on other sites

Lycaeus Wrex
If there's one detail I truly love on this model it would have to be the awesome marble effect on the first pic; it looks truly fantastic! Do tell, how did you achieve it?
