Bluddragonn
Ok this may sound like a stupid question, but is the note on the armour page under terminator armour an actual rule? It says: "NB: Though the Terminators of other space MArines chapeters often teleport straight into battle, Space wolves have a deep mistrust of such arcane tactics and prefer to fight with their feet on solid ground, just as Russ intended" Is this saying we CAN'T deep strike terminators or is it saying they just prefer not to? Sorry if this is stupid question or answered elsewhere, I searched for it but didn't come up with anything. Vlk
We cannot Deep Strike our Termies via teleports. But we CAN put them in a Drop Pod and land them on the enemy's head turn 1 <_< Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/183530-terminator-armour/#findComment-2170455 Share on other sites
stinkenheim
no we can't teleport. only way to get deepstriking terminators is in a drop pod. its more of an explanation as to why we don't have the teleport special rule, becuase without it people will be moaning and saying it was an oversight that they didn't add it Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/183530-terminator-armour/#findComment-2170456 Share on other sites
Forseti
Simple really, our codex is now a standalone one, so we don't take our rules from the SM codex anymore. Terminator Armour entry in Codex: Space Marines states they can deepstrike, Codex: Space Wolves doesn't. Bluddragonn
That basically means we cant have 10 man terminators squads travelling in any way apart from foot Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/183530-terminator-armour/#findComment-2170489 Share on other sites
muzzyman1981
If you want the official reason why it can't deep strike....look in the Wolf Guard sections of the codex, if the entries don't have Deep Strike in their special rules then they can't Deep Strike....if Deep Strike is there, then they can. The thing in armor section is just an explination. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/183530-terminator-armour/#findComment-2170522 Share on other sites

Wolfe
That basically means we cant have 10 man terminators squads travelling in any way apart from foot But thats no bad thing, when you can have 2 assault cannons a rune priest slinging lightning all over the place and a ton of storm bolter shots all protected by a coupla storm shields and saga of the bear. Anything that survives to actually get into combat with them will be torn a new one. Vlk
of course they can, they don't use teleporters edit: or not? looking in the dex, I'm not that sure anymore! perhaps there is something about that in the rulebook? Hfran Morkai
of course they can, they don't use teleporters I think he was being sarcastic to point out a flaw in another poster's logic. Because technically no terminators or jump pack marines have deep strike in their profile (except maybe divergent dexes) but it is in fact mentioned in either the wargear section (for TDA I think) or in the rule book (for jump infantry I seem to remember) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/183530-terminator-armour/#findComment-2170615 Share on other sites

WG Vrox
Yes, Skyclaws can deepstrike. It is specifically listed under the jump pack rule in the SW codex. Schertenleib
Good, 'case that is what I told the guy at the GW Store that pointed it out to me :P But back on topic.... Where is this Rule that says we CAN'T teleport? I see many places that say prefer not to. I read the designers article from an old White Dwarf (the last Codex) that said that though SW prefer not to teleport it was not the designers intention to stop SW from teleporting. WG Vrox
It does not say we can't, it just doesn't say we can. If you compare the C:SM and C:SW under the TDA section you will see in the same paragraph where it allows SM to teleport, it instead for SW gives the fluff paragraph that we mistrust the tech. Vrox.
