Tales from the Fang

Hey, since Mav and a few others have done/are doing models, why don't we do some table top rules for the characters in the sagas? There is currently a B&C Member rules thread over in the Homegrown Rules forum, why not some for us? I'll get the ball rolling.

Blood Claw Pack Leader Jonas Stormclaw

Jonas Stormclaw544414293+

(Jonas is a unit upgrade for a Blood Claw Pack)..........50pts.

  • Infantry

  • 1 (Unique)

  • Power Armor
  • Power fist
  • Combi-flamer
  • Bolt pistol
  • Frag and krak grenades

  • And They Shall Know No Fear
  • Acute Senses
  • Counter-attack
  • Listen Up Whelps!
  • What have you idiots stolen now?
  • More ears for my collection...

  • See the Blood Claws Pack entry in Codex: Space Wolves

* Listen Up Whelps!: Jonas has been promoted to the wolfguard, but somehow always manages to draw duty with the whelps. While he is an upgrade for a Blood Claws Pack, he counts as a Wolf Guard for the purposes of the Headstrong special rule.

* What have you idiots stolen now?: Jonas pack includes some of the worst miscreants the Chapter has ever seen. These whelps regularly make off with various equipment from the armory, including everything from meltabombs to landraiders. If Jonas is not chosen as a Blood Claw Pack upgrade, he may instead be taken as either a Sky Claw or Swift Claw Pack upgrade.

* More ears for my collection...: Jonas often takes trophies from the fallen foes and is fast becoming famous for his colllection of ears, both human and xenos. Jonas's pack adds +1 to their Initiative for the purposes of Sweeping Advances.

Three special rules may seem a bit much, but no special wargear, so I think it balances out.

while i really like jonas his idea i've spotted a slight flaw in his own plan, why the bolter and no boltpistol(combiflamer i know but gamewise this will result in you being unazble to fire on most occasions) and since he's an upgrade, do you need to take a bloodclaw an promote him into jonas (like you do with lukas). In each way i'm reallylooking forward to the first chapter!

Yes, I do intend to have to take a bloodclaw and promote him and holy crap you're right about the pistol! Fixed. Do you think the points are okay?

Grand idea, Jonas!! Though I doubt I could be so creative.

Just stare at special rules long enough, it seems to give me inspiration

Though really Schert, if you like my rules I'd be happy to do an entry for you or anyone else who isn't feeling creative. Just PM me any specific details you want and I'll get to work.

@Maverik: You done me yet? If not, Ill send a pic of how I look on the Fang (feel free to use it in your thread).

I'm saving you for last, I plan on doing an Iron Priest later on for my force... I know how much you like Iron Priest from the Inglorious thread. I'm just looking out and saving up various pieces and bits for your model LOL. Everyone else is primed, just need to start painting them this weekend! most of the characters have been built upon from the actions in the Inglorious thread. Ramses will look like his avatar and was hunting spears from the comment he made on my thread. Jonas, Decoy, hendrik and I are modeled from the HANGOVER bit several post earlier. Mikal will be a Wolf Scout along side Growler67. etc etc. I will post them once I start!

@Jonas, wicked idea! great job hahaha

Iron Priest Berek Firenze
Berek Firenze 6 4 5 4 3 5 5 10 2+

HQ choice for any Space Wolf Army - 250pts
  • Infantry

  • 1 (Unique)

  • Rune Armour
  • Servo Arm
  • Thunder Hammer
  • Twin Frost Axes
  • Matched Bolt pistols (counts as Storm Bolter)
  • Frag and krak grenades
  • Wolf Tooth Necklace

  • And They Shall Know No Fear
  • Fearless
  • Acute Senses
  • Counter-attack
  • Saga of the Warrior Born
  • Unhinged
  • Independent Character
  • Brawler

  • Whatever unit he is attached to

* Unhinged: Never the one to back down, even when taking multiple grevious hits. Multiple times he has torn through enemies in a wild frenzy, even with wounds that would fell a marine. He has a 5+ invulnerable save.

* Brawler: The Iron Priest regularly brawls with his pack mates, and has honed his skills to an instinctual level. This allows him to anticipate an enemy and counter with a crushing blow. Once per game, The player can do a coup de grace move with Firenze, giving him a single attack, yet causes the enemy model to be removed from the game if wounded b y the move.

There he is, Iron Priest Berek Firenze.

This sounds cool. Not sure if anyone would want to put me, Arez 'Greenhorn' and Postal into a squad of Blood Claws with a rule with the pair of us trying to out do each other but with the potential for us to end up brawling for the turn may be fitting. Maybe that we gain D3 inches of movement for each of alive but any double results in the whole squad having to break up our brawl and cannot move.

The presents of Mavs Girl reduces it to a double 1 as she kicks us into line quicker.

Just an idea.

I'll have a special rule were if Mav girl gets wounded and is removed from the game, I become fearless+headstrong or I just become a wulfen... not one with the mark, just wulfen LOL

someone should do Lord Rags, Max and lilbitz as Wolf Priest who carry around dreadsocks

Well Warhorse, I hope you don't mind if I take a stab at some rules for you.

Grey Hunter Warhorse

Warhorse554424393+

(Warhorse is an upgrade for a Grey Hunters Pack)..........90pts.

  • Infantry

  • 1 (Unique)

  • Thompson
  • Frost Axe
  • Bolt Pistol
  • Power Armor
  • Frag and Krak Grenades

  • And They Shall Know No Fear
  • Acute Senses
  • Counter Attack
  • Defend the Hot Tub!
  • Unca Warts

  • See the Grey Hunters Pack entry in Codex: Space Wolves

* Thompson: This relic autogun was a gift to Warhorse fromt Colonel Tobias Ulisan of the Reikland 3rd Infantry. The weapon is old, very old, and its heavily notched grip has been replaced many times to accomodate the kill counts of its owners. The barrel is stamped with the name "Thompson 45," perhaps some gene-bred soldier of the distant past who first bore it. The weapon uses the following profile.

Range: 18" Strength: 3 AP: 6 Type: Assault: 5

* Defend the Hot Tub!: Warhorse is forever getting on the good side of any bolter babes in theater and having Firenze build him a hot tub with which to impress the ladies. Should the Space Wolves' base camp come under attack, Warhorse will defend his prize possesion to the death. In a mission with objectives the Space Wolves player may select one objective to represent Warhorse's hot tub. If within six inches of this objective Warhorse's pack has the Preferred Enemy Universal Special Rule.

* Unca Warts: Warhorse has been mentor to several generations of young wolves, many of whom still look up to the old man. Once per game Warhorse can exhort his pack to greater feats, exactly in the manner of a Wolf Standard.

Options: Warhorse may trade the Thompson for a meltagun for no additional cost.

Grey Hunter Schertenleib
Schertenleib 5 4 4 4 2 4 3 8 3+

(Schertenleib is an upgrade for a Grey Hunters Pack)... 90pts
  • Infantry

  • 1 (Unique)

  • Plasma Pistol
  • Bolt Gun
  • Power Weapon (Halberd)
  • Frag and krak grenades

  • And They Shall Know No Fear
  • Acute Senses
  • Counter-attack
  • The Unseen
  • Hand of God

  • See the Grey Hunters Pack entry in Codex: Space Wolves

* The Unseen: Schertenleib has the ability to "lose himself" in combat. Enemies find themselves unintentionally overlooking this warrior in combat only to have him appear in front of them unexpectedly. He has a 4+ invulnerable save.
* Hand of God: Being so often overlooked has repeatedly given Schertenleib the chance not only to save himself but to protect his pack mates in close combat. Once per game Schertenleib can grant is invulnerable save to a member of his pack in close combat.

So here is my try.
