Logan Grimnar + Long Fangs Question

1. i was thinking about the whole Grimnar + Long Fangs relentless tactic and was wondering whether you could also add a wolf guard to that squad?

 

i was planning on using a drop pod, sadly we only have 10 man capacity so that only leaves 2 spaces (or one terminator)

obviously im planning on using a terminator as they can take heavy weapons

 

so i buy 6 long fangs + logan

then buy a 5 man wolfguard squad - giving one a terminator heavy weapon

 

could i then attach the wolf guard as a pack leader for the long fangs?

hence leaving 4 wolf guard as a squad or as individual pack leaders. or is this illegal?

 

 

 

2. also second question if i buy a wolfguard squad and use a few as pack leaders what is the minimum squad size? is it 3 (as in the codex entry) or can it be less.

Yes, I believe you could attach that WG to the Longfangs pack, as long as there is room in the Pod you've nothing to worry about.

 

My reading of the WG entry seems to mean that the minimum you can take is 3 for the Elites slot. What you do with them is up to you. If you take three, and detach one, that just leaves a pack of 2.

Yep just as littlbitz says on the 2 q's

 

Don't forget that WG could be Arjac if you want extra ranged and CC punch along with another guy to throw AP1/AP2 wounds onto. Pretty fluffy to put Logan's champion with the great wolf aswell.

 

Also don't forget the LF pack leader has the same 2A base as a WG so you can create a pack that is both awesome at short-medium range and in CC. Don't think about how much it is costing though :D
