Space Crusade Power Armour Minis

Hi Folks,

It's been ages since I've posted anything related to power armour but I've recently painted up an old Space Crusade set. The set was set up for tabletop standard so there's nothing hugely impressive but it'd be great to see what you think.

very nice, but I was just wondering, I've seen these before but I dont really know where they come from if you know what I mean, this Space Crusade. Can someone explain it to me? Was it a table top wargame? A boardgame? all based on 40k?
It was a collaboration between Milton Bradley and Games Workshop if memory serves. MB liked the concept of Warhammer 40,000 and approached GW about making an "intro version" so to speak for the market. It was a table-top/board game version of Warhammer 40,000. Similar in concept to Space Hulk in that the Marines are assaulting a derelict ship/space hulk. I remember living in the UK at the time it was released and my parents picking up a copy for Christmas. I think it's still in my closet somewhere actually.

AH wow, thanks for posting those mate, they look great and all that, but wow, welcome to nostalgiaville population me, sadly i now really feel my age, as i was a kid when space crusade first came out.

Randomgunfire pretty much sum's it up, you could now 'sort of' compare it to warhammer quest, though it was the 40k mirror to Heroquest. it actually finished up being released as a computer game too, and was a real gem, this was however pre commador amiga, i think i had it on an old Commador 64.

Either way thanks for making me feel old ;)

Yeah they (GW) should bring back the old missile launcher. :P Ah, the old power glove/power sword combo, i prefered the bolt pistol/power axe set-up myself though. The only weapon i didnt like was the plasma gun as it looked like a big hairdryer.

Good work.

I'm getting all misty eyed now.

Those are brilliant. I've been trying to get my hands on some of those space crusade models for a while now. I finally got a hold of the original rule-book itself (e-bad). Going back into the arcana/fluff in these original books (2nd edition and earlier ) is brilliant. These models are amazing, I've always loved the old missile launchers. Your paint-jobs are excellent! Post more!!!

Whoa! Cheers for the replies folks. This game makes me feel old too - I was around 11 or 12 when it came out in the UK so when I had the chance to snap one up with the Mission Dreadnaught expansion I jumped on it!

Some of the old style weapons are great - the mission launcher especially and the asssault cannon. Here's a few shots of the completed miniatures on the board itself. I'm glad you lot like them. :D
