1st company captain, Gregor Finn

Recommended Posts

Right for one of two of the captains in one go however this is first of of the two I'll get done in one go.

Fluff:

1st Grand company Gregor Finn is the oldest member of the chapter, only the two venerable dreadnoughts Kayvaan and Ventris out-age him and while Chapter master is recorded as the oldest of all in the 454 guard it is up for debate whether or not if he's just being silently replaced when he 'dies'. The captain is a unique and sadly ironic man of stature, currently over 75% machine he is the most stubborn and hard to kill captain of the 454 guard and is famous for his ability to stand before anything and this once included a renegade baneblade rolling full speed at him. The tank was stopped when the captain eventually got his feet dug in some 100metres with his shield raised and jammed against the tank, eventually the treads just spun invain to get a grip and this point Finn brought his legendary hammer round in a mighty arc and from eye-witnessing Imperial guardsman said the baneblade was spun right round with horrific damage however it was confirmed this was wrong however the damage to the front was correct for a single hit has torn the front plating to shreds and left the tank immobile. Out of all the spirit swords the 454 guard has, Finns is unique in that upon recieving his it changed into a thunder hammer of unparrelled craftsmanship and power and was dubbed 'Bane of titans'. His first out of many revivals with new bionics began with an ork rokkit slamming into a torn plating on his terminator armour during a brutal battle. He was deemed lost and deserving of the emperors mercy but Chapter master 454 demanded they revived the captain no matter what. Much to their surprise the captain came back from the dead, well the brink of it anyway and stood again. 35% machine now. His second was when his right arm got severed from an ork warboss who he swiftly headbutted to the ground and with his remaining arm decapitated the green skin with his shield, again a further 15%. His most recent was from being brutally taken down by an ork armies concentrated fire which left him barely living. He now has nearly none of his own body left. Ironic though he detests machines, the chapter respects his wishes and by his request he shall never be interred into a dreadnought however he allows numerous bionics. 'I can at least look like a marine', the first marine concerned about his own flesh and fearing of losing his sanity or a personal view and nothing more?

His Bane of titans is considered 2nd only to the chapter masters hebikuroi and even then it's closely contested. When put to full power the weapon becomes a hefty two-handed warhammer and his armour further hardens to the point of being on par with a land raiders and even beyond. The hammer itself can over-turn battle wagons and looted wagons with a single swing and even brutally daze giant squiggoths while his armour lets him wade through any fire un-harmed. The power required to pierce the armour is near unreal and warlord titan weaponry can barely knock him down while tanks meerly run into a sudden stopping block that dents their armour. Orks have buried him under their numbers, chao marines have unleashed hellish warp powers on him and daemons have even sent their 4 great daemons at him, all attempt invain. He is juggernaut and as such the weapon in this form is called 'The walking man titan; bane of might'.

Stats: same as captain but +1 wound

Wargear:

The walking man titan; bane of might

special rules:

Fearless

Company tactics: All marines switch out combat tactics for the stubborn universal special rule

Deep strike

The walking man titan; bane of might: This armour and hammer is near unstoppable when put into a fight and nothing short of an entire army is needed to stop him. The hammer confers him Strength10 and ignores armour saves, re-rolls to hits and re-rolls to wound and any invunerables taken must re-roll successful ones. He gets 2D6 for armour penetration and +2 on the vechile damage chart. If facing a super-heavy, for every structure point inflicted the tank takes an addition structure point of damage. Gargantuan creatures hit with the weapon and are wounded cannot attack in the next round of combat until every other model has made it's attacks. All hits with this weapon cause instant death, even if the model is normally immune to such effects (except GCs who take D3 wounds as normal). The armour makes him nigh invincable to all attacks bar the most directed, it confers 2+ save and which must be re-roll if failed and cannot be ignore by any means no matter what. He is immune to any deep strike mishaps and if he lands on impassable terrain or enemy models reduce scatter so he doesn't land on the terrain or enemy unit. He does not need to take a DT if DS into DT. The armour makes him immune to ever being killed by tank shock nor can anything of that kind kill him, includes titans stepping on him or whatever like that. He may never be instantly killed, Lukas stasis bomb has no effect as the armour protects Finn from the last resort nor can anything like jaws of the world wolf kill him outright (he most likely tells the puppy of the world to think twice). He may also make an attack at every model he is engaged (instead of his normal attacks) with (so every model with 2" gets one attack directed at them) as he swings the mighty weapon right round, it also knocks any survivors must be moved back outside the 2" engagement zone of Finn, thus ending any combat with him and so he can move out of CC if he wants. If Finn should lose him last wound roll a dice, 1-3 he's gone down and is removed as a casulty but if 4-5 then he fights on for his next friendly phase then roll again with the same chart, if a 6 is rolled he is restored to one wound and continues to fight. If he takes a further wound when he needs to make rolls then he is considered a casulty. However leave some form of token in his place equal to his base size, this represents his locked up armour standing stiff holding the captain up, any model within 6" of this token is considered fearless, gains D3 attacks in the assault (roll each assault phase) and can never be killed by sweeping advance. and gains eternal warrior as long as they remain with 6" of the token.

Oh yes, this is by far one of the most game breaking guys I've made. Then again tell that to the :cuss space puppies

GW guy 1: oh I know lets make eternal warrior more common.

GW guy 2: Lets make things that ignore eternal warrior more common as well now.

GW guy 1: but doesn't that defeat the purpose of the rule?

GW guy 2: no it doesn't, it just makes sure we can sell those models that ignore eternal more reliably.

GW guy 1: GENIUS!

(yes, sorry but I must rant about such idiot ideas. Jaws of the world wolf is by far the most retarded thing ever and whats this: costs puppies only 110 points to get a guy with it. :cuss :) :cuss )

Anyway enjoy this creation of how I detest GWs ideas here (I don't give a Grots left ear about how long it's been since yous got a codex, I dread to see what the dark eldar will get if this is a bench mark for the old codexs getting freshened up). Ahem, I'm going to go play some violent games on consoles now to get my anger out now, bye.

Fine. Now...

I hope that that also does something like I1, otherwise...

Sigh...let's just continue...

You know what, I take my previous statement back. The one on the other character? Yeah.

Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot.

This is just about the only thing here that is remotely balanced.

By now, I can't even bother to rip this apart. God. If I feel like doing something about this...abomination...I'll get to it. Otherwise...

Look at Chaos...freaking Librarians are better than those blessed by the freaking God of Magic, Change, etc.

Ah, arikromus, how I just went into complete joy when I saw the one post was by you. I love seeing how you just went the full 9 yards and did a detailed review of him. Oh and no, he ain't int1. He's pointed at 1000 for a reason (he's the closest thing your going to get to chuck norris in 40k). Anyway I must ask: Why do you keep coming back to my creations? are you obliging my delight that I get from people going What the :( at my creations? are you just drawn and intrigued at someone who makes up such things and interested in what I've come up with now? or are you just the lurker of homegrown rules?

Anyway -takes a bow- thank for letting me know that this has earned your Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (and yes I know what it means, I doubt many don't)
