Flesh Tearers

Just getting back into the 40K hobby, and having always liked The Blood Angels and their successor Chapters, decided to have a go at The Flesh Tearers colour scheme, forgetting completely how tricky red can be to paint!!

So, here's a shot of what I'm currently working on:

This is my first mini in about three years, still very much WIP, but fairly pleased with it so far...

C&C welcome!

Melchiah.

very nice - have been trying to decide on what scheme to go with myself recently (normally play dark angels) and painted up test models in Angels of vengence and flesh tearers - apprecitate now how difficult red is to get looking right and you seem to have got it spot on :P

if you are less keen on so much red you could do flesh eaters instead (have a look at chaplain Desmondus's stuff - its awesome linky)

He looks really good, the red looks almost like the GW version. I personally prefer the darker red on FT's and perhaps abit of weathering/battle damage might add more flavour.

As is, he looks great.

Melchiah - is that name from the soul reaver game?

Thanks for the comments...

Need to do alot more work as he's the test model for my Flesh Tearers, and battle damage is on the agenda, kinda want them to have a realistic, well worn look that reflects the Chapter, and agree he's a bit clean cut so far... Straight from the Adeptus show rooms on Mars!!

-RogueTrooper, Ah, yup, is indeed from the Soul Reaver games, loved that series!

As usual, I seem to have a massive blind-spot when it comes to Mold lines and flash. Rarr! :)

C&C Always welcome.

Another quick update on my Flesh Tearers in TDA:

Progress is a little slow at the moment, but quite pleased with how they're shaping up...

These guy's are basically test pieces for a few different techniques, aiming for table top quality, with the aim of finally having a painted army to game with!

So, trying to ignore the new Space Wolves kits as much as possible!!

C&C Welcomed as always.

Just a teeny-tiny update...

Started work on a Tactical squad for my Flesh Tearers... And what with the new Blood Angels Dex and models coming out, really need to get my arse in gear!

Gotta new job, and just not finding enough time for the toy men! *Sigh*

I really like your painting style, your lines are so crisp and clear, all your marines look like they just came off the assembly line ( in a good way ). They are not exactly painted to a high standard but they are excellent considering that you havnt painted in 3 years. Keep it up.
