Winterlight
This has been bugging me since I started collecting GK. Why isn't there a dedicated GM/BC model? Do you guys just use the Terminator BC model? Isn't exactly a very epic model, even the puny inquisitors look more interesting. If you have a GM/BC with retinue and another unit of GKT how do you distinguish the GM/BC from the other BC. I was working on a simple conversion using the Emperors champion as a basis with a filled down storm bolter green stuffed (quite badly) to his gauntlet (plus bits and bobs from the plastic space marine captain kit. While I'm quite happy with the model I've now got two problems. He's clearly not in Termie armour, and since I made it I realised That I really want my GM/BC to have a psycannon anyway. So looks like I'm gonna have to bust his ass down to Justicar and start from scratch. Any ideas? http://c2.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/86/l_0f64c40d0e284111b3eaf03475e84bed.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/183848-no-gm-model/ Share on other sites
Gibious
Well from a fluffy POV the Grey Knights are a very uniformed Chapter with each armour worn to protect them from the Deamon. Just like Knights in the medieval we bear sheilds with markings to help us tell each other apart. So how do you make one BC different form another? differrent sheild of course. From a moddlers POV thats boring, Luckily there is a GK Character model. BC Stern than many players use as a GM/BC. I know thats what I plan to do, once I give him a helmet and the orgional NFW. -Gib- Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/183848-no-gm-model/#findComment-2173537 Share on other sites
silversmith82
Here is a link that user SamaNagol posted in a thread I made a few spots down. Apparently he dremeld off Stern's head and right arm at the shoulder (poor fella...) and then installed a vanilla terminator sergeant head, GK NFW and GKT psycannon. I will say it is completely badass. I may do something similar for a crazy GM but I am also debating on a GM/Stern combo list and I would not want to have the same basic model for my 2 HQ. Or... you can just take stern and swap his storm bolter arm out for an incinterator or psycannon and leave him be and call him a Grandmaster. Perfectly acceptable. And yeah while I do think that the GK are all uniform, the GM is just going to have niftier stuff such as a big cloak, maybe a hood on his head, ornate decorations everywhere as even Justicars get their own heraldry etc... Many people take the BC from the terminator set, apply green stuff and go. SamaNagol
http://i601.photobucket.com/albums/tt91/Sa...ol/DSC00107.jpg Your link was truncated. It was amusing getting asked if my GKs are 'new resin ones from Forgeworld' a couple of times. Quite the compliment. number6
Using the BC "sergeant" model from the GKT box set makes for a fine GM. As does the BC Stern model. Those are the two most popular choices. The Emperor's Champion is a relatively common GK Hero conversion model. As is Marneus Calgar. Pistorius
I plan on using this guy when I place my next order to Forgeworld: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/hrex314.htm Lose the shield and a little greenstuff work and he'll make a pretty impressive centerpiece. Winterlight
I solved my own problem quite well I think. Terminator Chaplin body + GKT arms (with psycannon) and some green stuff to fill in the gaps. ta da http://c1.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/83/l_6f6654b5086f4eeba7afe85a7bca56a0.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/183848-no-gm-model/#findComment-2184370 Share on other sites
silversmith82
Termibrarian would work great too if you are giving your GM a psychic hood. So would Lysander. Winterlight
Planning on using that as my BC and then using the terminator librarian with his stormbolter and a GKT right arm for a GM model. All the books really help make it look Grey Knighty Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/183848-no-gm-model/#findComment-2184374 Share on other sites
silversmith82
Someone on this or another forum (think it was this one) took a Librarianator, subbed in a GKT NFW arm on the right and then cut/GSed a psycannon onto the left arm. Looked sick and probably the best GM conversion you could make as they ARE master psykers. Valerian
Using the BC "sergeant" model from the GKT box set makes for a fine GM. As does the BC Stern model. Those are the two most popular choices. Yep, that's what I did. Brother Captain Stern with Psycannon arm swap as my Grand Master: The Brother Captain model from the boxed set (the one with the talbard), also with a Psycannon arm swap, as the BC: Valerian Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/183848-no-gm-model/#findComment-2196717 Share on other sites
