Wolf Scouts WIP

Recommended Posts

Hi guys. Here are my Wolf Scouts. Just held together by bluetac so far, but hope to start painting tomorrow. Any suggestions for the pose is very welcome, since they are not glued yet. The pack is gonna have a meltagun and meltabombs. I'll probably add a WG later too.

My pics are not the best, since they are taken with my iPhone. Parents are in austrailia w/ the real camera =D

I really like them. Original. So glad you didn't go for those crap scout heads that came on the sprue, they are complete gash!!!

I still love the metal scouts GW do. The only problem with them is they look small/young. I'm about to paint up an old 2nd Ed model with Boltgun and Power sword. Only problem he is in scout armour. For fluff purpose will say its stripped down PA.

Beef: Yeah, I am not sure about the shoulder pads. Any suggestions about how to make it look good?

I was thinking about either dropping them compleatly and not having any kind of shoulder pad, or make somethin out of GS. That could turn out lika crap tough, as well as it could turn out good.

Good old chaos marauder bits ;) I was inspired by this - http://space-wolves-grey.blogspot.com/2009...onversions.html

Posing is quite menacing and dramatic. I am pre-building the force now, so as soon as I get any built minis, will post. I was also thinking about adding one or two "big machete" plastic arms from IG Catachans.

Kroot pads are ace, but damn you have to get a lot of plastic that you don't need with every pair.

There's plenty of this stuff on ebay, as well as many independent bitz stores. Bitz Barn for example.

And due to the aforementioned crapton of unwanted plastic, most of those bits sites are perenially out of stock for those particular items.

Of course you can get lucky, but until the majority of the rest of the plastic stock shifts they're not going to get in new boxes of Kroot just to sell a few 50p shoulder pads are they?

A far better idea is to get hold of one and cast the rest yourself.

Okey, somce new pics. Glued, and some bad GS work (not first try, but almost).

Tomorrow I'm gonna get their left arms from a friend, and prime them black. Then hopefully I'll be able to give them some first coats of paint.

Regarding the shoulder pad issue, I am right now thinking that I'll skip pads alltogether. Might add later, but as it looks good enough as it is, since I want them ready for a tourney that I may attend next week (I'm reserve #1, so if anyone cancels, I'm in)
