Natanael
Hi guys. Here are my Wolf Scouts. Just held together by bluetac so far, but hope to start painting tomorrow. Any suggestions for the pose is very welcome, since they are not glued yet. The pack is gonna have a meltagun and meltabombs. I'll probably add a WG later too. My pics are not the best, since they are taken with my iPhone. Parents are in austrailia w/ the real camera =D Pics: All five of 'em: http://img683.imageshack.us/i/img0042.jpg/ Closeup on first two: http://img269.imageshack.us/i/img0045ze.jpg/ Next two: http://img193.imageshack.us/i/img0046og.jpg/ Last one. This one is gonna get a speartip on his staff too  http://img689.imageshack.us/i/img0047c.jpg/ Also, a size comparison: Scout, AOBR Captain and a "true-scale" marine (as my GHs look): http://img696.imageshack.us/i/img0048b.jpg/ C&C very much welcome! Still not glued, so rip away! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/184119-wolf-scouts-wip/ Share on other sites
Beef
nice but the shoulder pads make them look to top heavy Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/184119-wolf-scouts-wip/#findComment-2176554 Share on other sites
Dewi Sant
I really like them. Original. So glad you didn't go for those crap scout heads that came on the sprue, they are complete gash!!! I still love the metal scouts GW do. The only problem with them is they look small/young. I'm about to paint up an old 2nd Ed model with Boltgun and Power sword. Only problem he is in scout armour. For fluff purpose will say its stripped down PA. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/184119-wolf-scouts-wip/#findComment-2176707 Share on other sites
Natanael
Beef: Yeah, I am not sure about the shoulder pads. Any suggestions about how to make it look good? I was thinking about either dropping them compleatly and not having any kind of shoulder pad, or make somethin out of GS. That could turn out lika crap tough, as well as it could turn out good. CainTheHunter
Good old chaos marauder bits ;) I was inspired by this - http://space-wolves-grey.blogspot.com/2009...onversions.html Posing is quite menacing and dramatic. I am pre-building the force now, so as soon as I get any built minis, will post. I was also thinking about adding one or two "big machete" plastic arms from IG Catachans. Heimdal
I recomend Kroot shoulderpads instead of those from SM. http://prophet-miniatures.com/gallery/gold.../laststand8.jpg http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/...dId=prod1060295 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/184119-wolf-scouts-wip/#findComment-2177044 Share on other sites
Beef
yes the kroot shoulder pads look good. Maybe cut the original SM one down so they are smaller Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/184119-wolf-scouts-wip/#findComment-2177134 Share on other sites
Natanael
Gonna try cutting them down first, while searching my gaiming group for kroot pads. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/184119-wolf-scouts-wip/#findComment-2177193 Share on other sites
maznaz
Kroot pads are ace, but damn you have to get a lot of plastic that you don't need with every pair. CainTheHunter
Kroot pads are ace, but damn you have to get a lot of plastic that you don't need with every pair. Marek There's plenty of this stuff on ebay, as well as many independent bitz stores. Bitz Barn for example. Natanael
Glued them together (most of them at least) and did some small GS work on them as well. Pics coming later. Marek There's plenty of this stuff on ebay, as well as many independent bitz stores. Bitz Barn for example. And due to the aforementioned crapton of unwanted plastic, most of those bits sites are perenially out of stock for those particular items. Of course you can get lucky, but until the majority of the rest of the plastic stock shifts they're not going to get in new boxes of Kroot just to sell a few 50p shoulder pads are they? A far better idea is to get hold of one and cast the rest yourself. Natanael
Okey, somce new pics. Glued, and some bad GS work (not first try, but almost). First 3: http://img137.imageshack.us/i/img0055bn.jpg/ Side of first 3: http://img137.imageshack.us/i/img0055bn.jpg/ Back of first 3: http://img689.imageshack.us/i/img0053s.jpg/ Other 2: http://img43.imageshack.us/i/img0052su.jpg/ Side of 2: http://img690.imageshack.us/i/img0056.jpg/ Back of the 2: http://img509.imageshack.us/i/img0054arz.jpg/ Tomorrow I'm gonna get their left arms from a friend, and prime them black. Then hopefully I'll be able to give them some first coats of paint. Regarding the shoulder pad issue, I am right now thinking that I'll skip pads alltogether. Might add later, but as it looks good enough as it is, since I want them ready for a tourney that I may attend next week (I'm reserve #1, so if anyone cancels, I'm in) - Natanael Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/184119-wolf-scouts-wip/#findComment-2177862 Share on other sites
