How to 'Apocalypse' Daemonhunters

My Daemonhunter army will soon be heading to Apoc size.

But what Super Heavies to add to them?

Baneblade / variants? Or does everyone now have one of these?

Valkyries? Transport for my Inqs and added fire power?

Grey Knight Landraiders? Variants inc Redeemer , Terminus and Ares?

Titans? Warhounds and Reavers inducted into the Inquisition?

Thoughts and ideas are all welcome.

Thanks

Getting Str D into any Apoc force is necessary. At least, it will be if anyone else you play with has any Str D on the table. The Imperium has the easiest and cheapest access to it, so you can count yourself lucky in that respect.

Str D is, IMHO, the really big change in how the game plays. If you have it, and your opponent doesn't, you can expect to win quite easily most of the time. (Because most of the units that carry Str D are themselves quite difficult to kill and can be parked in the corner of big Apoc boards out of reach of even Tau railguns without any hindrance on their own effectiveness.)

And what cariies D weapons?

ME!

seriously though.

-][- rely largely on inducted troops, and in an apocalypse scale battle, they them selves would not have anything as big as a titan.

why?

because if a daemonic incursion or other conflict is that large, it is far more likely that either:

A. other imperial forces were there first, and called in the -][-

B. the -][- were there first and called for reinforcements.

simply put, the inquisition, compared to other imperial organizations is alot smaller. their primary source of manpower is inducted troops, or reinforcements from other groups (Astartes, Imperial Guard etc.)

a pure -][- force is far smaller than a pure IG force. thus, the only reason -][- would have superheavies (beyond perhaps baneblades and variants) would be if they were specifically requested, or if they were already at the conflict/nearby. as inquisition forces travel from system to system or planet to planet so much, they generally wouldnt be able to carry the manpower or equipment of an IG or combined imperial forces battlegroup could.

thus, the simple answer to the OP's question is :Inducted troops/units.

shadowsword, warhound (and higher) titans, thunderhawk, defence laser (not really practical) and I'm sure i've missed a few.

Mel

get a GK thunderhawk with psycannons!

get a GK thunderhawk with psycannons!

get a GK thunderhawk with psycannons!

A normal one with bolters and a turbo laser tears though everything, imagine it with S6 heavy bolters that ignore invunrable saves.

just don't land it

GK Thunderhawk sounds really good. And will probably be on the books for the future.

Im not sure about inducted troops. Unless they are inducted Ad Mech in Titans.

Inducted troops are perfectly acceptable sacrifices soldiers. Just make sure that they don't see any Grey Knights or Daemonhosts. Then you'd have to spend another game killing them.
