Long_Feng
1. With our new cyclone- which one is better? assault cannon or a cyclone? Seems like they are pretty much the same. Both can try to hunt tanks, both can rip some infantry and they cost the same. No real difference. Is it right? 2. Heavy flamer- anyone used it? Did it prove to be good? Or is it a better 5 pt option? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/184288-wolf-guard-terminator-builds/ Share on other sites
Natanael
1. I'd say cyclone is the better choice. Longer range, better AT and AP and possibility to do more frag wounds as well. 2. In a termicide squad, or something like that, if could perform very well. I have been thinking about doing a squad in pod with combi-meltas and a HF, just to be able to take on anything. It might also be good if you cant afford the AC/CML, but already have 5 WGs. Could use it in a LR-squad that way. Ullr Direfang
i have always planned on getting a guy with a CML but haven't used it as of yet. i feel that it, the CML, will do just as well if not slightly better then the AsC, due to range, when it comes to their anti-tank abilities, for how i pan to use them. i also like the HF for them. i know most people say "no", but i originally had one modeled with one and ran him in a few games. he did great against tau, IG, and A 'nid lists. but i only played those three games with it. i would like to have one around for zerg style armies, i know a guy who has something like 200+ guardsman in 1 list, to aid in dwindling their numbers. Commissar Volker
I find HFs to be under-rated, admittedly my opponenet tends to pour almost his entire armies fire power into my terminators until they are dead, but when I do get close enough an HF usually proves it's worth. Rokafort Stonewolf
I think the HF is just what the doctor ordered in my Logan drop list, both for the punch and to free up a few points for some multi-meltas. I'll give it a try. For the Logan Drop squads, I'm running: 1 WG Chainfist/Heavy Weapon (asscan atm) (TDA) 1 WG Chainfist/Combi-Melta (TDA) 2 WG Wolf Claw/Combi-Melta (TDA) 1 WG MotW (PA) 1 WG PW/Combi-Melta (PA) Two squads like that. May change up the last power armour guy or something. One of the squads dropped a WC/CM termi for Logan, but if I run Long Fangs in the next build he'll drop with them and the termis will drop two units of 6 guys. Jaarl Stormfang
I don't see any reason you can't take a combi-plasma/melta with your cyclone, and fire them both in a single turn. Which to me seems to make the cyclone a no brainer over the assault cannon.
