Muller
Alrighty, so in time for this B&C online painting comp. I decided to finally start out a Space Wolves army. With me being Swedish with viking blood in my veins I've always wanted to do them, and now they have neater models than before so why not? I've started off with just a regular squad of 10 grey hunters (with one being a wolf guard for more awesome weaponry) I really unlike the horrible steampunkish hairstyles that GW gave these fellas (along with the occasional hobo look), how to solve this? why with green stuff of course! So I haven't gotten any painting done yet, just some starting hair overhauls and general posture changes to some models... They are not on bases yet because I want them in semi-deep snow and I need to get supplies for that ^^, Anyway, enough rambling, here's the first 6 (the rest will be done modeled by Wednesday I hope): http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/SpaceWolves002.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/SpaceWolves005.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/SpaceWolves009.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/SpaceWolves010.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/SpaceWolves011.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/SpaceWolves012.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/SpaceWolves013.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/SpaceWolves017.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/SpaceWolves018.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/SpaceWolves019.jpg So, what input do you guys have thus far? The wolf guard with dual wolf claws have frizzy hair, I know... It will be smoothed out later ;) I'm still learning to really do cool things with green stuff (for someone who's been into the hobby since 2nd edition it feels like I should've learned earlier... right?) C&C wanted and appreciated.. Muller
Have gotten more work done now during the morning... I know it's hard to extinguish but all the GS isn't his hair, a huge chunk och it is the wolf's pelt (the wolf whose skull rests on his right shoulder) http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/SpaceWolvesWIP2001.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/SpaceWolvesWIP2002.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/SpaceWolvesWIP2003.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/SpaceWolvesWIP2004.jpg This is on a different space wolf (obviously ;)) but I'm not satisfied so I'll try a thin rope approach rather than the thicker band approach sown here: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/SpaceWolvesWIP2005.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/184393-the-guardians-of-asag%C3%A5rd/#findComment-2179739 Share on other sites
Gerrie
I have nothing to add really... the green stuff hair looks very well done. Are you going to enter them in the unit category? Muller
Yes I will, if I can get them done on time :P I will also aim for a Wolf Priest or a Wolf Lord for the singles category ;) And also.. Got one more done now before I had to run out to do all the stuff needed to be taken care of today. Will hopefully get more up tonight. Was real tricky to not have the green stuff break when doing the twisting since it had to be so thin to fit into the hole ;) http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/SpaceWolvesWIP3001.jpg I'm waay happier with this than the previous result: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/SpaceWolvesWIP3004.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/SpaceWolvesWIP3003.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/184393-the-guardians-of-asag%C3%A5rd/#findComment-2179775 Share on other sites

Muller
Alrighty, I've gotten more modelling done today... YAY! http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/SpaceWolvesWIP4001.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/SpaceWolvesWIP4002.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/SpaceWolvesWIP4003.jpg I found Inquisitor Lord Coteaz in my bitz box, having only used his thunder hammer for my Ultramarines captain many years ago I realized that i wanted to make him a Wolf Priest (To use in lower point games mostly). He is my tribute to one of the most awesome characters in the Swedish TV series "Hem Till Midgård" ("Back Home In Midgaard" in English), the character "Gammelman" ("Old Timer" in English), he's the village's Shaman (or Wolf Priest one might say).. Here's a short clip; he's the one in the middle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4ug-sUCW5Q http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/SpaceWolvesWIP4004.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/SpaceWolvesWIP4005.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/SpaceWolvesWIP4006.jpg Input is, as always, appreciated and encouraged. Brother Iencub
VI SKA HA BLOT!! Damn, bringing back precious memorys with my brothers. Great models, and i love the Coteaz model. Favourite model ever. I do remember Gammelman having more hair and a beard though. Muller
He does have more hair and a beard, but that model's head position makes it really hard to get good looking GS:ed beard there. I wanted to make sure he looks OOOOLD by having him have barely any hair left. EDIT: I just noticed that you can't really tell, but I have actually removed all =][= iconography from him, so there will be no need to mention that part :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/184393-the-guardians-of-asag%C3%A5rd/#findComment-2186256 Share on other sites

Iron Corsair
Excellent job so far, Müller! You're seriously making me consider making a SW force as apposed to a vanilla army. Muller
They are soo much more fun modelwise than a regular SM army (I previously played 5th Company Ultramarines since 2nd edition). Muller
I know it's been a while but here comes a semi-update: I've bought and built 5 sweet CC kitted Space Wolf Guards in Terminator armour. Would love some input on what to do with them GS wise http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/SpaceWolvesWIP5001.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/SpaceWolvesWIP5002.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/SpaceWolvesWIP5003.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/SpaceWolvesWIP5004.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/SpaceWolvesWIP5005.jpg I wasen't satisfied with how the Wolf Priest first came out so I decided to do some more work on him.. Anybody has a crozius for sale? http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/SpaceWolvesWIP5006.jpg And my beloved GF came home with an early "Midwinter Sacrifice" (we don't celebrate xmas, we celebrate the Norse "Midvinter Blot") gift: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/Frger001.jpg She sure knows how to treat me ^^, Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/184393-the-guardians-of-asag%C3%A5rd/#findComment-2207643 Share on other sites

Muller
Alrighty, finished my first model, spent a great deal of time on this model and I'm really pleased with how he came out. Might add some extensive freehand on the right shoulder pad, but that will come after more practice. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/IMG_4828.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/IMG_4830.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/IMG_4831.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/SWE_BadAss/Space%20Wolves%20WIP/IMG_4832.jpg C&C wanted and appreciated Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/184393-the-guardians-of-asag%C3%A5rd/#findComment-2213980 Share on other sites
sword brethren
wow thats looking fantastic, i love the blood effect you have! i much prefer the colour you have chosen to the traditional blue of the space wolves, this is much more of a weather beaten grey, as it should be :P looking forward to seeing more Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/184393-the-guardians-of-asag%C3%A5rd/#findComment-2214005 Share on other sites
