Moress
Hey all, I've been getting really tired of the blandness in the HQ section of the current codex. I hate how no matter what HQ I take, if I want it to be effective, I always, always end up going back to a DP. No matter how hard I try, the Chaos Lord sucks, the Sorcerer is okay, but the DP is just such a better choice! It's so frustrating! Anyway, I was flipping though a copy of IA5, and I noticed some sweet rules for Arkos the Faithless on pg 178, and I think I found a cool character with cool abilities that is different from everybody else. I wanna try this guy in a few friendly with my mates, but the only problem is, he has two special rules from what I believe is the previous codex (3.5 I think?) that for the life of me I can't remember and was hoping you guys could jog my memory. Spikey bits and Daemonic Aura I believe the aura grants him is inv save, but I could be wrong, not sure what spikey bits does.... Also, if it doesn't go against the rules to do so for a previous codex edition, then would someone with the codex mind posting the wording exactly so I don't get any mix up should a rules quesiton come up, at least until I can get my hands on a copy of the old 3.5 codex from someone. If that last part violates any of BnC's rules, then I apologize in advance and please ignore that last request. Thanks in advance. Moress
So then it's just a master crafted.... armor? I'm assuming your allowed to reroll one failed save per turn (for both shooting and assault phase, not one reroll for each phase) just as you would a master crafted weapon, yes? Also, Daemonic Aura was just a 5++ save, right? Thanks Jeske :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/184528-looking-for-outdated-rules/#findComment-2181000 Share on other sites
BrotherLoki
Spiky bits let you use your armour offensively - it let you reroll your first missed HTH attack. Aura was as you describe. Lay
I think they updated his rules in IA: 7. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/184528-looking-for-outdated-rules/#findComment-2181021 Share on other sites
Moress
So... It just makes your weapon master crafted then? Cool thanks! B) @Lay, Any idea what page in IA7 it's on? I looked around but couldn't find it. Edit: Crap, gave it another thumbing through and I found it on page 199, thanks a ton Lay! Sorry for putting you folks though the trouble ^_^ Edit2: In his profile, one of his special rules is dameonic resiliance, which grants him +1T, but in his profile, he's T5, not T4(5), is this one of FW's many typos or is this on purpose? Lord Humongous
It made ALL your HtH attack "mastercrafted", regardless of which weapon you used. Meltabomb? Yup, "mastercrafted"? Mastercrafted twin lightning claws? Re-roll TWO misses. I suspect they got rid of it because it was silly to NOT take it on anybody who had more then a couple attacks. If you want a fluff explanation, now its just rolled into WS (which, iirc, went up a bit for most Chaos ICs).
