sky claws and leader wip: Update pics, converted jumpack

Hi again all! Well things are progressin, just painting 20 mins here and there. I converted the leaders jumppack to so that it looks a little closer the skyclaw versions (but still more advanced). please let me know what you think!!

Hi all, well, as an experiment, i finished speed painting the skyclaws, and had an hour or so to spare (should be working) and speed painted their 'leader' too ;)

 

The unit was washed with my own version of 'army painter' which I think looks ok ;) I also used a darker version to dirty the lower legs.

 

The battleleader/wolf guard was fun to paint, and I've deliberately made him 'brighter' than the unit, but have since toned him down with the same wash.

 

I've also made him a 'cut down' customised version of the jumpack (from the jump pack chaplain).

Love the Rogue Trader jump packs! Very cool! Nice conversion of the AOBR captain. It took me a minute to realise where that mini came from. Good work!

Thanks! yeah, I had no idea what to do with that mini, but always fancied paintig it. I think the claws/cloak go together in a weird way <_<

Really nice painting and conversion on both the skyclaws and the leader, the old style jump pack fits space wolves perfectly. :tu:

 

I can't get over how ugly the wolf helm is though, looks like something you'd find in a furry's DeviantArt gallery.

@ Cosmic Castaway: they are the old jump packs :devil: Luckily i was given them by a very, very kind person!! (Cause I just had a look at the ridiculous price they are on ebay!)

@ ChainsawDR : Hi there, thanks :) the wash was a mix of game colour bown, Klear floor polish, Chaos black (adjust ammount for tone wanted) and water. Its not perfect, I had to repaint the cloak because it provided too stark shading (no pooling, rings etc. though) so maybe make it weaker for lighter areas.

@ FreakIQ : your right about the wolfhelm! Its 'nice' but the one on the old metal captain is better :)
