Turned/demonic/rogue assassins

So I did a search but couldn't find anything, so what happens when a assassin goes over to chaos? I know Nemesis is coming out from the HH series but that is 10,000 years ago......RIGHT! are they hunted down and killed or let free? Because I could think of some great rules for a Khrone turned vindicator.... :)

They probably have a kill switch in their brain that instantly kills them so that such eventuality occours they are terminated. They probably have their minds wiped regularily too. But I suppose if one did go rouge and survive long enough, it would be extreamly dangerous. Personally rules wise id keep them the same, or use a demons rule or something with some mutations on the model.

The extreemities of training they go through to reach the height of their skills, probably includes a unimaginable amount of Puration and loyalty. Even if the vinidicare falls for Chaos, heres a few questions.

How could he keep it secret from his Inquisitor?

How can he evade deep striking Grey Knights?

What if by programming he cannon shoot anything but chaos in the head?

I imagine a rouge assassin would specialize in poisons adminstered via cosmetics; either that, or he'd be a master of disguise or something.

As for assassins who go rogue, I imagine there's an entire minor Ordo dedicated to watching the assassins for just such an eventuality. It'd have the training and the equipment to handle assassins who have gone traitor or turned heretic. As well, I suspect the assassin temples themselves would come down very hard on rogue assassins, if only out of simple self-preservation.

That'd be one of the roles performed by the Ordo Sicarius...

There's a bit about them in Codex: Assassins, but for a better description of the Ordo it's worth tracking down Exterminatus 8 which included an article on the Ordo for Inquisitor.

How could he keep it secret from his Inquisitor?

How can he evade deep striking Grey Knights?

Two important clarifications on these...

First, Assassins do not report to Inquisitors, they report to their superiors in their own Temple. Inquisitors request that the Temples deploy Assassins on specific assignments, but the Inquisitor is not the owner of the Assassin.

Second, Grey Knights only are called in for Daemons and obvious Chaos stuff. Rogue Assassins are not their responsibility.

I seem to recall one of the personages described in the Thorian Handbook was a rogue experimental Callidus. That'd be worth a read (the handbook is a free download at the GW site). In my opinion I agree with Kaled100 in that it would be handled by the Ordo Sicarius and the Assassin Temples themselves. They'd simply send Assassins and specially trained Inquisitors after the other Assassins.

But even if there's an entire ordo for tracking them down some would have to get through, right? Isn't the whole thing about chaos is how it gets everyone but GK and sisters? Just one chaos assassin would be insane....And to the DCA it says in the codex most death cults are for chaos

Rougue officio assassins is more fun played out in Inquisitor and is a good excuse to use two at once.

Its very difficult to rationalise a rougue assasin because of the way they are trained and looked after, to my mind the easiest 2 would be cadillus and eversor. Cadillus work undercover and spend time around the enemy and could get infected some how or something could go in their heads and they started thinking for themselves. With eversor they're pretty deranged and kept in stasis between missions so for them life is a constant stream of killing, it wouldn't take much for the part of their brain that deals with their orders to phizzle out and for them to just go on a killing spree.

Death cult assasins are a whole other ball game.

Rules wise, yes, they'd follow the "normal" Assassin rules (unless of course you wanted to make a specific one - though I think pretty much all the likely variables are covered really).

Best candidates to use as rogue/chaos assassins would deffinately be Death Cult Assassins, but I can't see why you couldn't have one of the other assassins as rogue/chaos.

Deffinately would be the Ordo Sicarius who hunted rogue/chaos assassins, along with another loyal assassin from the same temple (almost deffinately the same temple as they'd be trying to "cover up" the rogue element).

Personally, if you were to play against me, I'd be happy to let you use a "rogue/chaos" assassin - leads to all manner of possible plot lines...

That's the one I was thinking of with this earlier comment:

Excellent, it's good to know I wasn't crazy ;)
