when will the blood angles get their own HH book? and what about?

they are one of the most famous space marine chapters of all time, yet they dont seem to have gotten a mention yet. Dark angles have their own 2 books continum going, Imperial fists have gotten a mention in FotE, and Mechanicum. The Ultrasmurfs got their own book in the series (kinda) with Abyss, and the Space Pups are getting their own 2 book contium next year... what about the angles?

did they not feature much in the Heresy till the Seige of Terra?

could that be a reason why they have sort of been 'over looked' as of yet?

Well the next books are Wolves and T Sons. Hopefully a BA book will come soon after that.

yes i know, even the raven guard/World eaters (Ravens Flight) and the Officio Assassinorum (Nemisis) are getting a book...

but yet, still no real blood angels mention... unless you count Sanguinius' meeting with Horus in book 1 or 1 (cant remember now)...

James Swallow said on the BL forum he wants to write about the Blood Angels and their battle on Signus Prime. However, he has to finish Nemesis first, so it will be some time!

Essentially the story revolves around Horus tricking the legion to go to the deamon infested world of Signus Prime, where they have one hell of a fight! I recommend getting the Collected Visions book, as there is a fairly sizeable section on that battle, and some very cool artwork!

I hope when there's a Blood Angels book it'll be more like Desent or Fallen than Battle for the Abyss. And if it's just about LOTS OF FIGHTIN' HURR then it'll be like Battle for the Abyss. So I really hope it's not heavily focused on Signus Prime. Maybe something revolving around the rivalry between captains or masters in the Blood Angels and World Eaters and how it manifests both on AND off the battlefield?

Heck, BftA had so little character you could just pretend every mention of Ultramarine was Blood Angel and there you go. A shame, as I've quite liked some of Ben Counter's books.

Sounds suspiciously like the other books James has written...wait a minute...

Essentially the story revolves around Horus a trusted individual tricking the legion chapter to go to the deamon infested world of Signus Prime, where they have one hell of a fight!

yep yep definitely just the same as one of his boooks.

I'd really like to see this tale of the BA. Something about the great crusade early on, a cross reference bit on Murder with LW and EC, on to Sangy sent to Signus Prime, his injury, finding out about his beloved brother Horus' treachery, getting to Terra, the Siege, grand finale on the battle barge and his death. Then as a sort of epilogue, the surviving first captain (or whatever) sitting with the surviving Primarchs and having represent the very noble BA whilst in grief and breaking up the legion off into the Scouring where the rage will really materialise - nothing like having a real reason for vengeance to bring out the rage. This I imagine as at least a couple of books like the DA ones, with the one of the 5 for the Siege being BA focussed. Love it if entirely written from the Primarchs viewpoint but I suspect it will be a ranking officer/captain main character like most of the others.

And by the way they WILL be written by Swallow, who isn't a bad writer, just needs the good story arc. I think if you read the last BA book there are more Heresy references in it, as if getting himself set up ready to write the proper HH one.

i feel sorry for swallow and his 'deus' series. ive read the omnibus and i liked it. yes the plot was a bit 'silly' and at some times i found myself going 'umm yeah right' when the BA's would follow an inquisitors orders so blindy. but! i did think it had strong characters, Rafen and Ario were great and i loved the 'brotherly love' battle between them as their company was slowly duped. also, Ramius Steele was one of the best baddies ive read in 40K, you really got to delve into him and see where he came from and how he turned, at times i was sort of going for him! so yeah, i think the BA omnibus gets a fair bit of flack for a few minor blemishes (plot) and gets overlooked for its positives (good characters). so yeah, im happy for swallow to write the first HH BA book, hes probably the best to do so.
