Jonny Wolf
...and, seeing as I'm a Grey Hunter now and not some whelp just staggering into the ale hall I'm just gonna ask (that and it'll irritate Brother Lunchbox): Ok, as I RAW the Saga of the Warrior Born, I don't see where the assault 'counter' resets to zero if I kill one unit and move to and assault another unit. as I RAI I can see that was probably the intent. What's the word around the ale hall on this one? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/184679-warrior-born-question/ Share on other sites
saphius
I believe that you keep it. I also believe that was what was intended. I imagine a Wolf Lord running from combat to combat in a frenzy and only when the lines of foes stop does he actually regain his senses and settle from his killing spree. Rules-wise as long as it is the next assault faze - regardless of the unit or hot you got there - he gets the attack bonus. Grey Mage
...and, seeing as I'm a Grey Hunter now and not some whelp just staggering into the ale hall I'm just gonna ask (that and it'll irritate Brother Lunchbox): Ok, as I RAW the Saga of the Warrior Born, I don't see where the assault 'counter' resets to zero if I kill one unit and move to and assault another unit. as I RAI I can see that was probably the intent. What's the word around the ale hall on this one? As long as you were in assault in the previous assault phase and killed something you gain the bonus... yep yep. Jonny Wolf
Thanks brothers. I like that. Ragnar was a friggin' juggernaut of death and destruction last weekend. Him and 6 grey hunters annihilated two khorne beserker squads in a row. Ullr Direfang
JW i might just need to give you an ale for stating that you haven't searched much on a topic that i do not believe has come up really.... but the way i and others at my LGS read it, basically you get how ever many attacks the in the next assault phase that is equal to the number of guys you killed in the last. so if you kill 5 guys in your turn and wipe out the unit, then you get assaulted in your opponents intimidate next assault phase you get an extra 5 attacks. but if you opponent sees that you just wiped a squad, and runs from that unit and doesn't charge it, then you lose those extra attacks. Howling
Still confused now....so do you lose your extra attacks if your lord isn't in close combat in your ENEMIES close combat phase? Or do you keep it until your next assault phase? And if you do...which ones are kept? the ones you got in your combat phase, or the ones eventually gotten in your enemies? stinkenheim
you only get the bonus attacks in the NEXT round of combat. so your opponent can 'reet' the counter by running away in his turn, that does however mean that you will get furious charge bonuses so its risky... as long as you are in combat you keep gaining bonuses. if you are out of combat for 1 player turn then the count is reset to 0. Araith
That's indeed the case. The saga specifically speaks about an attack bonus equal to the wounds caused in "the previous Assault phase". Lumdin
wounds caused or models killed? I thought it was models killed. Of course I dont have the codex in front of me. If its wounds caused then i shortchanged myself on last night's league game.
