maverike_prime
So I was at my local hobby center today, and I got into a discussion about different "Gun moments" from movies, and we came up with a couple that we thought would be cool to base conversions on. No speccific deal or arangment about anyone going any speccific models or scenes. Here's some the ideas we came up with: Matrix: "Pardon me sir, but are carrying any keys, or metal objects?" *Neo opens trench coat...* Batman: *Joker pulls 5 foot pistol out of his pocket* Predator: Jessie Ventura with 'Ol Painless Terminator 2: Arnold scanning back and forth with Grenade launcher in one hand and pistol in the other Dirty Harry: "Do you feel lucky?" Any way.... I put hobby knife to plastic and came up with this based on the idea above: http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a316/maverike_prime/Warhammer/01_001.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a316/maverike_prime/Warhammer/01_002.jpg Over all I'd call it a win, though if I were to do it over again I'd look at using the terminator assault cannon versus the land speeder's. I think it's smaller and would fit better with the scale of the models, but then again having a mini-gun on foot in the middle of the jungle was pretty pointless anyway so it kinda fits. I'm thinking about using the model in my Inq. Retinue as a H. Bolter Gun Servitor. kraegus
hahahaha looks totally over-the-top-awesome. a gun that big though, he doesnt need some kind of a bipod mount or anything? when you consider the kickback... nurglespuss
Just tie a bunch of baloons to the end <_< That looks great! I've been toying with the idea of doing a squad of long fangs with heavy bolters, but using terminator assault cannons (like you suggested)... now I'm sold!! ulrikk
The recoil would make him fly through the air. And then he could control the direction of flight by how he aims the gun, like in TSoaLR. Congratulations, you just combined devastator and assault marines and got the best from both worlds. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/184681-movie-inspired-marines/#findComment-2183441 Share on other sites
TheOtakuGundam
looks good but one would think he would need to hold the gun from the top, like the heavy bolter marine. maverike_prime
yes it is totally over the top... yes, in reality he would need a mount of some sort... probably of the type found on a tank he would also need a far larger ammo-hopper then what he has there. Jessie Ventura accomplished all this and more in Predator, so what's the problem? I'm gonna try and do a marine pulling up a trench coat to reveal like 2 bolters, and 4 Bolt pistols next.... of course I could do a scout with a bolt pistol with a ginormous long barrel and call it a sniper rifle... hmm decisions decisions... Eberious
Tis a good idea indeed. I done one like it few years ago. I used a LR crusader AC. I think if you just used the barrel part of the LS AC it would be fine. Heres mine. http://i1019.photobucket.com/albums/af317/Eberious/DSC04692-1-1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/184681-movie-inspired-marines/#findComment-2183804 Share on other sites
Atticus_Ross
Haha. We had some ideas over here like that! In fact. if you do any of these, please message me with some pictures! I want to check it out. Jarhead - The guy with the glasses weilding two M249 SAWs. (You can use scout bolters) Saving Private Ryan - The belltower sniper shot through the eye! And for the hell of it. If you've played Call of duty 4, 5, or 6 Do a last stand Marine, laying on his back, wounded with his gun out. Haha. Terminatorinhell
I love minigun conversions! The Neo marine would be sweet to see too! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/184681-movie-inspired-marines/#findComment-2184054 Share on other sites
lucian
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v717/freddie5150/DSC00184.jpg Sorry for bad pic, but I only have the crappy phone camera. I made this back in 94, and I´m repainting it now therefore no left arm. ;) It´s one of the old space wolf models with the assault cannon from a old metal terminator, and I had to put a terminator badge on his shoulder to please my friends to allow me to use it. ;) I cut the terminator badge of the metal terminator with a knife, hard work. ;) The old assault cannon isn´t as big as the new, but the big look cool...a little clumpsy but cool. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/184681-movie-inspired-marines/#findComment-2184148 Share on other sites
chapter master 454
love the idea. I still think the most iconic gun moment is with tony montana: 'Say hello, to my little friend -blows down his own door with an underslung grenade launcher on an M16(?) killing 3 henchman-' I once made a marine, weilding a plasma pistol and bolt pistol (Held sideways, you know, think it's called gangster style but I'm not sure) looking like he jumped sideways. More fun that anything! I think we need a van helsing, you know have a marine pulling along a carriage mounted assault cannon. For those who don't get it: during a point in the movie van helsing the main character is walking through his bases armoury where he then hears and sees a large gatling gun on a carriage mount and says: 'why can't I have one of those?' good model anyway, like it alot!
