How to make a list to fit my new fluff?

Okay, so I'm one of those crazy people who cares more about fluff than winning and I've decided with the new codex I want to remake my great company with new fluff.

The basic idea I'm going for is a great company that was nearly slaughtered to the man while far from Fenris, most of their ships were destroyed and what they have is incapable of FTL travel. So they've outfitted their remaining men with the best equipment they can and are trying to make their way home.

Which leads me to the point of this thread: What should I do for my army list to stick with my fluff? Most importantly for my troops, fast attack and heavy support choices.

Thanks for any advice.

here's my thought about it

for the army overall; no droppods, around 4 dedicated transports maybe

-HQ:

-only 1 runepriest

-only 1 wolf priest

-troops:

-2 bloodclaw packs at maximum if you ask me, rest of them should all be grey hunters, the bloodclaws most times are the first to die in a conflict.

elites:

-lone wolves are really fluffy here

-wolf guard as well as wolf scouts still survive the battles they've had, maybe 1 wolf guard pack maximum

-dreadnoughts 0-1 only the most venerable should still live

-maybe an ironpriest who does all the hard needed repairs/ makes the looted stuff better

fast attack:

-swiftclaws and skyclaws are still an option, when low on bikes/jetpacks they could always loot some

heavy support:

-long fangs are the way to go

-max 1 vehicle i'd say would be fluffy, preferably none

depending on how your gaming groups handles count ass you could make some repaired dedicated transport that uses IG bits, tracks etc

edit*

oh and only one thunderhawk, so should you have more then one you can always give the extra one to me, because my great company is doing great atm;)

I agree.

The LW idea is top notch as well.

My guess would be that the surviving craft is a strike cruiser or a battle barge. As BB`s are rare I guess that the crippled ship is a strike cruiser. Keep in mind that some Great companies have aquired ships thats often reserved for the Imperial Navy.

most of their ships were destroyed and what they have is incapable of FTL travel.

First of all; imperial ships do not possess the capability of travel faster than light. They take a shortcut through the immaterium instead (the warp). And without that ability they are literally stuck, they wont get anywhere and have to call for help.

Field Logan so you can use the Wolf Gaurd as troops. This will give you packs with total flexablility. What ever you want them to use basicly.

As for the rest it's your choice.

The dude says fluff is the most important thing for his "lost" company and you say "Take the Great Wolf"...

Can't see see that working, despite the obvious benefit of having WG as troops.
