Future of Space Wolf minis

After we got the SW pack and Termy box we can basically make any model we want with the parts or maybe some cutting and glueing. We also have a decent amount of metal models which can be used for representing many different things.

 

But what will happen in the future?

 

We might get some metal models to replace Ragnar and a new Bjorn, Arjac and power armoured Njal but once those are done what can we expect from GW?

 

Would we get any good one off mini's like the dual wolf claw dude earlier this year? Those are my favourite to paint because of the great detail and individuality while painting dozens of plastic models seem so boring in comparison.

We already have power-armoured Njal - that's a very rare old model.

I don't think they will release too much more. Maybe a vehicle sprue, a new rune priest, wolf priest and a special character (probably Arjac). However, i think your summation is correct, GW have cleverly avoided having to 'release' loads of new models, with the codex, because of the flexibility of the sprues.

A new Rune Priest, Wolf Priest and Iron Priest model would be nice. And Thunder Wolf Cavalery.

personally i think they will release these:

1) Thunderwolf/Fenrisian Wolf pack. Which lets you build either a thunderwolf squad or a fenrisan wolf pack (bit of a stretch with the different types of wolves i know but still)

2) A Wolf Priest model and Iron Priest

3) And a vehicle upgrade sprue

 

i think thats all there will be

I would have liked the wolf helmet on the prue to be a useble wolfscul helmet, i dont like that thing one bit and have no idea what i could do with it that would look anything near cool.

 

So they have to make a decent wolfpriest, i'm not cutting up a nother urlic just for the skull and weapon :lol:

they will not release a Skull helmet because with the new wolfskull and a Wolf Helmet you can do the Wolf helmet of Russ (ok you cant have the normal skull jaw but thats minor)...

 

The Skull helmet of russ is Ulriks trademark and they wont make it just a normal thing...

I would like to see more in the way of vehicle upgrades, although between FW and a knife you can achieve quite a bit. I would expect a couple of new blisters and maybe something for TWC and Fenrisian Wolves, though neither are likely to be high priority.

 

Frankly, we've done bloody well with the new bits. Lets let GW get on with GK's/Sisters/DE and 'Crons first, eh?

I think a new Iron Priest is essential, that and a new vanilla Wolf Priest.

@ shorty actually the wolf priests are much like codex chaplains in that they often take to the field of battle wearing skull shaped helmets to represent death coming for the enemy, although for obvious reasons ours are usually fashioned to look like wolf skulls and represent Morkai or his servants.

 

i would fully expect a new wolf priest model, a new iron priest and some TWC...

we may see a plastic kit much like the marine commander that will allow us to make either a wolf priest or rune priest as there wouldn't need to be too many wildly different bits. basically a skull helmet, runeweapon, chest with rosarius and crozius. add in a couple of pads with runes carved in (although im sure there are some on the normaly sprues) and your set. if they did this i wouldn't be surprised if they didnt add in one fenrisian wolf. kind of like they do with rippers in the nid sprues. it would encourage people to buy more kits for one thing... although thats merely wishing from me :tu:

 

the other thing i think will will see far down the line is resculpts of the special characters as well as an arjac model, although with all the bits ion the new boxes i think they realised they could hold off for a while. oh and a new shiny dread too, some old fellow named born the fell footed or somesuch is aparantly in our codex and is so old he knew THE leman russ...

Isn't this a rehash of the "2nd Wave" thread? Has the search function broken or something? Do all the band-wagoneers and new SW players in recent weeks NOT think that these topics haven't already been brought up at some point before now ACTUALLY think it's a new discussion?

So people want to discuss it afresh, thats up to them. The search function isn't entirely useful, and if people don't want to use it thats up to them. I would rather see this, than have threads yo-yoing and knocking new discussions off.
