Custodian Athiair
ok i know all the ideas for the Wolf Standard but i am unsure when it can be activated. is it activated in your turn, or in any turn. for example can i activate it when my opponent starts shooting at me in his turn? or do i have to activate in my turn? also how long does it last does it last (if i activate it in my turn) until the end of my turn. or until the begginning of my next turn thanks a lot Athiair ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/184718-wolf-standard/ Share on other sites
DV8
You activate it any point in the game and it lasts for the duration of the next Assault phase the unit takes part in (and ONLY the Assault phase). stinkenheim
you can activate at any time, your turn or your opponents turn. it will then be used in the next assault phase, and stops working at the end of that 1 assault phase. if you plan opn charging something and you think you will need a bit of help, use it in your shooting ophase. in the assault phase when you charge the banner will then grant you the re-rolls of ANY 1, no matter what they were rolled for. or you can use it in your opponents turn, normally shooting phase as thats where you get an idea of which units will be receiving a charge and it will work in his assault phase. RAW you can activate it in your own assault phase but the re-rolls will not be available to you until the start of the following assault ophase (in this case your opponents). as i said you only get the benefit for that 1 assault phase. That is a good point. Activating it during an Assault phase means the Standard's benefits don't kick in until the NEXT Assault phase. CoinReturn
If I recall correctly, codex is at a friends house, I thought the rule says: "...your next assault phase...". Wouldn't using it on your opponents turn not cause it to activate in your opponent's assault phase but rather your assault phase a player turn later? Not trying to pick any fights here but that was the interpretation I got from it. If the general consensus is otherwise with valid reasons I would be a happy pup. Once per game, a unit that includes a wolf standard may call upon the power of the wolf. For the duration of the next Assault Phase, all models in that unit may re-roll any dice rolls of a 1. CoinReturn
Well that's fantastic. Apparently I can't remember anything correctly. I don't think I've managed to activate a wolf standard in any games that I've played, though I usually blame that on the ale or mead because at least one seems to be present whenever a game is underway.
