Quick question about skimmers

Do any of you guys know whether or not an ordinary, non-tank skimmer can initiate a ram?

The BRB lists the rules for ramming under the Tanks section, and the only time they discuss skimmers is how they can avoid a ram.

I'm curious because a buddy of mine tried to ram my land raider with a land speeder that had moved a full 24 inches...ouch! I let him do it, but now I wonder if the rules allow for such things.

No. It must clearly state Tank in the unit type, as Ramming is a special form of Tank Shock, and only Tanks have access to this special move. Thus, no landspeeders, valkyries, or Dark Eldar skimmers (amongst other units) can ram.
What was the outcome of the ram - one splatted Speeder I imagine?

Yeah, the speeder splatted. I was just wondering about the specifics of the rules because I also have speeders in my force, and it would be cool to charge them into the flanks or backsides of light enemy vehicles.
