Lukas rules.

Alright, so we have a problem. Lukas has the pelt of the doppegangrel. By my understanding this can only be used if the entire squad has been wiped out except for Lukas because of the fact that it is used against any allocated to hit roles against him. But then what is the point of doing this if he is the last one in the squad since he has the stasis bomb. Just seems contradictory. Any thoughts?

Because it's much better for him to live through enemy attacks and kill his opponent with his Wolf Claw, than to have him die and maybe take someone with him when goes down. It's not like the Stasis Bomb is a sure thing; it won't work if your opponent rolls higher than you do on a d6. I'd very much prefer he live, and the Pelt helps him do that (eventually).

He isn't an Independent character though so he counts as a squad member and can't be singled out. and you don't allocate "to hits" you allocate "wounds" so yea unless he is by himself it has no effect.

as to why, i think it is along the lines of a Dwarf Slayer. he wants to die honorably but when he does die he was to have the last laugh.

Why could Arjac be singled out? He's not an Independent Character, though he does (IIRC - don't have codex in my lap at the moment) have to duel an enemy IC if there is one in the unit his squad attacks (which, I suppose, would let an enemy IC single him out in return).

the only time characters can be singled out in combat is if they have the 'Independent Character' special rule. if that isn't in their rules then they cannot be targetted seperatly regardless of which unit they are in.

so arjac, lucas and any normal wolf guard will never be able to be picked out by enemy attacks unless the enemy character has a special rule over riding this (Srgt Tellion for example allows you to decide which models are removed as casualties from hi shooting iirc)

Yea Arjac is awesome, he can single out enemy IC's and wipe the floor with them and get almost no retaliation. It's so much fun.

That sounds weard. You shure?

In that case Arjac Rockfist, the anvil of fenris is INSANE inside a blood claw pack. He is the 16th last to die, how wack is that?

well when he dies all depends on how many wounds the unit receives. if he has to have a wound allocated on him he could die from failing to many saves.

on a side note there is a semantics issue with arjac and assigning him to a different pack. technically arjac ISN't a wolf guard, he is the Anvil of Fenris. He is chosen as an upgrade to a wolf guard and isn't one himself, much like lucas isn't a blood claw he is just lucas.

now im not saying that arjac can't be assigned, just that some amy argue that point.

i personally don't think arjac should be put into a unit of bloodclaws as in my opnion its far more fitting for him to lead a squad of wolf guards than a squad of bloodclaws but hey.
